Hello Everyone - I have 73 Datsun Z with stock suspension...I'm trying to find 17" wheels, but struggling finding them that I like. I know that panasport 17 x 7 with 11 offset will work....however I dont like the looks. Does anyone know if this wheel will work: http://www.rotawheels.com/wheels.asp?wheelid=10 D2 - 17 x 7.5 with +20 offset. I think I would need a spacer with 9mm.

These rims were installed in 1975 by a Datsun dealer in the San Francisco area for the first owner. The rims have no marking at all and came with 195/R14 tires. There is a 'D' logo in the center of the wheel which looks a bit like the Daihatsu logo. I think they match the 240Z rather nicely but would be curious who made them. Thanks, Adrian

Hi Everyone, Its been a while since I have posted here, but with the recent painting of my 71 24z, I have renewed enthusiasm. One thing I would like to do is to get tires which fill out the fender wells a little more, particularly in the rears. I like the look of the existing wheels (15 x 7 +10) and don't feel a pressing need to replace them. The 225/50-15 tires are pretty old/cracked and really need to be replaced. One solution I am considering is to replace the tires with the same size , but add 1/2" - 3/4" spacers in the rear. A friend of mine suggests going with a taller tires like 205/55-15 to be more period appropriate and fill out the fender wells some. Any thoug…

I recently purchased a late '73 240Z from a salvage yard and it has an interesting set of wheels. They appear to be Nissan wheels, but I haven't found any specific information on them. I did come across a few photos in the gallery posted by somecreep, including this one: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=15054 Does anyone know anything about these? Here are some photos of one of the wheels on my car, including the stampings. Looks like mine are missing the center caps.

I am in need of your opinions and knowledge. I bought a set of 16x8 RB-Rs for my '73 that has been lowered with Tokico springs+struts. I have done some research and understand that I need 5mm spacers for the fronts only, however when I went to get tires (225/50/16) they couldn't even fit the rears. I don't get it, what is the issue? They say I need new studs AND spacers for the front and rear (???). Does anyone here run these wheels on a similar setup 240z? Does anyone know the required stud length for these wheels? Thanks...

I have four new in the box 40343-E8800 and five new in the box 40343-N8800 and one new in the box 40343-N4700. The trouble is, I have no idea what they fit. According to one of the members, 40343-E8800 is a wheel centre cap for European cars up to a build date of July 1973 (that will be from 1969, the first year of Z car manufacture). The US fiche shows it is correct for cars from August 1973 onwards, but is does not give a date when the part was used until. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, larry

I gotta do a front brake job on my Z when I'm able to get her out of winter storage (Hopefully soon ) and I'm liking what I've been reading on them so far. With these Speed Bleeders with the check valve that closes once you release the brake pedal, is it still required to have the opposite end of the hose submerged in brake fluid??? Also I want to start fresh with new fluid so I'm going to want to bleed the master cylinder first. Can these speed bleeders be used at the master cylinder as well or not??? Thanks in advance guys. I'm new to these speed bleeder screws

I searched the forum looking for some answer's on a 240sx rear brake conversion and find bit's of info here and there , but mostly 280zx stuff and conversion's on 240Z's. I have found a huge selection of 240sx cars at the junkyard and want to snag some brake's off of it. What year 240sx am I looking for to do my 77' rear conversion? I need a 280zx master right? And just the maxima brackets? Do i then use the 240sx rotor's or the 280zx one's. I read that the drilled and slotted rotor's are a bad idea because of cracking but are they ok for off track use? I'm not really adding a bunch of hp to my Z.

I just bought a 71 240 with fender flares. currently it has Mirada (Yokahama) P215/60R14s on it, not sure of the rim width, at least 6 I would assume. I still have plenty of room to fill that rear flare (out) and I'm wondering if I could fit P245/60R14s on the rear. My concern is inner room not outer. I would keep the 215s on the front. If so I will go with a set of Konig Rewind Silver 14x7 all around http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/WWC001H/25-1059 2nd question, purists don't hate me, is there a way to adapt the Z 4 lug to handle the following wheels?..... http://www.roadwheels.us/14crssformov.html thanks in advance for all thoughts/opinions Ken B. this is cur…

Hi all, I have a 1972 240Z. Aftermarket springs, very stiff of unknown origin. Not sure about the shocks either. It rolls on 280Z Datsun "Iron Cross" wheels with P205/70/14 Ohtsu Negotiator N70s. The Ohtsu's seem like good enough tires -- for a small pickup truck. I did a little looking around today and found a set of P205/60/14 Nexxen N-3000s. I definitely want a shorter set of tires (my speedo is 25% slow, probably due to the 5-spd and the tall tires currently installed). The Nexxen's have unidirectional tread, which is supposed to indicate a performance tire. Any first-hand information will be much appreciated. My top priority is handling and resistance to nibb…

Well, umm... I have been hearing a lot lately about people doing a rear disc conversion in their 240z with the drums. I am wondering if I should be looking into them myself. Will they give any advantage over the drums? Increase daily driving stopping power? How about when racing? I need to change out my brakes all around here soon, so would it be much more to do this conversion then it would to be to replace both back drums?

Sorry if someone has already asked this question. Can someone tell me where I can find these Rims? (in attachment.) I love the way these rims look on Zcars.
