Does anyone know where I can get original chrome wheel center caps for the mag wheels on my 240z? I'd buy the push-on ones that you see everywhere, but then there will be 4 empty screw holes on each wheel and it will look ridiculous.

Hello guys, I have been looking at the wheels on another site but I can not figure out this offset thing. The bolt pattern is the same as mine 4 by 114.3 but the offsets and rim size my be a real issue. The wheels are 16x9 +13 offset and 16x9 +25 offset ssr reverse mesh. I'm really in love with these wheels but I don't think they will fit and I don't want to buy these things and become stuck with them. Would I need to buy spacers, adapters etc and if so what size? I really love these wheels so any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Before I put them on E-Bay I thought I'd offer them here. If anyone here wants a set of period correct MiniLites for their 240Z, I have a new set, never mounted. MiniLite makes limited runs of these wheels only when they receive larger bulk orders. I believe these were produced in the 80's. They are 14"x6" with lug nuts and center caps. $850.00 plus shipping This is the wheel that Panasport copied... PM me or E-mail me at beck@becksystems.com if you want them. FWIW, Carl B.

I know there a bunch of topics of tire sizes for rims, but I couldn't find any that dealt with my kind of rim. Basically this is what I have on my car: 14 x 7 American Racing Outlaw II's - No Offset. What is the widest tire I can put on these without any rubbing/potential problems? The car isn't lowered, it's at stock height. I'd really just like to place the wider tires on the back for better traction, and keep what i've got up front so turning isn't anymore difficult. Thanks!

Are there any 240Zs here with Appliance brand 14x7 slot mags on them? Not the more common 6" wide, but 14X7s? Here's the deal - I found a full set of four Appliance Dish Mags (aka slots) in 14x7. Normally I wouldn't consider 7" wide due to the lack of tire choices. But this set of wheels is NOS. Never had tires mounted, never bolted on a car. The thought of NOS appeals to me a lot. But - my recollection from selling those wheels back in the late 70's and early '80s is that the 7" Appliances frequently had clearance issues, because (as I seem to recall) they were not zero offset, but more like -10 or so. Rather deep dish. So my concern is clearance when turning at the fron…

I have read most all of the info on the toyota caliper change over. I put new toyota calipers on my 72 Z. Brakes work fine, not much better than the stock calipers but my brake pedal is way down and I can't get it to come up. I hate it and think I should go back to orginal to get good pedal feel. FYI, I changed the master also to a larger one from a later Z, no help. Any suggestions before I go back to the way it was.

I recently bought a set of four brand new braided steel brake hoses/lines from someone who sold them to me because he'd sold his Z and no longer needed them. When they arrived today I was quite excited to install them, but when I opened the packaging I noticed a label attached to each hose that read "For off road use only. Do not use on public highways." Well, I emailed him to ask why he had failed to mention this to me when he was describing the hoses and he said: "I didn't mention it because its an industry wide standard warning. All performance parts for any car have that warning on them so the manufacturer isn't liable. They are perfectly fine for street use, there …

Can someone fill me in on the stock offset for a 70 240Z? Does it stay the same through out the years for all 240's/260's/280's? Also how low/aggressive of a offset can you go with without any type of fender modification?

My brake lines had a lot of old rusty, gelatinous goo for brake fluid (Car sat for 14 years). I have cleared all the lines, wheel cylinders, etc. but have not changed the lines. Rebuilt calipers, wheel cylinders and new master cylinder are in place. My question is: what type brake fluid should I use to get more use out of my old lines? Assuming there is some rust internally, would silicone be a better choice since it does not absorb moisture or would DOT 3/4 suffice if I changed it out each year? Mike

I am replacing frt brakes pads on my 78.. My question is this.. Do i have to remove the master cyl cap to depress caliper piston and can the brakes be replaced without removing the caliper? Looks very simple.. Pull pins and anti rattle clips?
