I just installed the 6 spoke 280 zx wheels>> the wheels came with 225 60 14's... I do not like the way the car drives with this tire..these wheels seem to be more offset toward fenders.. Can i now go back with 195 70 14 tires on these wheels with out rubbing?? The 195 70 14's appear to be much taller...

I have been reading past threads and came across a thread the Arne started back in '06 when he bought his wheels and "D" caps. He mentioned the early rims being "skinny" 4.5" rims. Would a 01/70 240 have been sold with these "skinny" rims? Were the wider rims (I'm guessing 6") available as an option in 01/70? Have "D" caps, need wheels to put them on now. (cart before the horse thing. yeah, I know) :stupid: One more question, I have been told by "the" parts guy (literally the only parts guy within 4 hours of the twin cities) that these are the skinny rims. Before I get taken for a ride does anybody know what a set of 4 of these rims would go for in "great" shape wi…

After dragging feet for, well, years -- I'm fixing to get some tires onto my car. (Has had 185-65-14 since I bought.) I think I want to go with the 70 profile for the period feel, the feel of the 240 I had in the 1970s. My car is a '73, btw. Looks like the 195-70-14 is kosher on 14x7 -- I've got a terrific set of Western turbine-style mags in that size. Anybody think it's a bad idea? Anybody think I need 205 or more for the x7 width??? I also have nice hubcaps and steelies, and I haven't ruled that out (for the 195-70) ; and sell the Westerns. There's even a set of turbines in 14x5.5 available near here.... Thanks to all. Steve.

I am plumbing hard lines for a Wilwood proportioning valve (PV) in my 240z. The PV will be installed in the tool box behind the passenger seat. The easy way to connect the Datsun 10mm x 1mm brake line would be with a 1/8 NPT -27 to 10mm x 1mm adaptor that screws into the PV, but I can't find one here, Summit, local parts stores or local speed shops. The only solution seems to be going with a 1/8 NPT -27 to AN -3 male to AN -3 to 10mm x 1mm adaptor which results in an ugly stack up of parts. Does anyone make a 1/8 NPT -27 to 10mm x 1mm inverted flare adaptor that can be screwed into the Wilwood PV?

Hey guys i just came into possesion of some 17" rims off of a 350Z and was wondering if anyone knew where i could get the adapters to fit them onto my 240Z, i've seen it done before, at the 2008 MSA show and was wondering how or what they did. I know it makes a difference, but i have tokico illumina shocks and eibach pro sport kit on my car. idk the specks of the tires but i do know that they r stock. Any and all feedback will greatly be appreciated! THank you!

My project has been tested ......... I took my '71 down about 8 months ago with the intent of making some major mods. During this time I did the 5-speed change, the R-200, Tockico Illumina shocks and Tockico springs, lightened flywheel and new clutch. Front and rear sway bars, ...you get the picture. Also, and this is where my issues are, I put the MSA big brakes on the front and their rear disc kit on the rear. First track day session was this past weekend and everything was good except the brakes. The car, particularly after some heat was introduced, did not stop. Before you start telling me about brake fade etc, the pedal was still good, the car just wouldn't sto…

Does the number stamped on the inside center of the original "D" caps mean anything identifiable to the car? I just picked up a matched set of 4 with the number "1042" stamped inside of all 4. Thanks for the input. John
