Hi there, Im going to order a set ROTA RB 15"x7J for a 260Z. But what offset do i have to pick, +4 or +12? And what tire size is the best for this set of wheels? (195/50/15 or maybe 205/50/15?)

Ok, It looks like I may be close to making my decision. I want 16 x 7 Rota +4 offset (Panasport knock offs) with the Eibach lowering springs. Does anyone have this set up? Can this specific set up be done with no rubbing, no fender rolling, and no spacers? If so, with what size tires? I am not hung up on a particular tire size. Yes, I have spent hours scouring this site, and have seen lots of tire and wheel discussions. I would rather not purchase wheels online only to have to pay to return ship them, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Adam

I am very frustrated. I cannot get the shoes to move inward. The adjuster wheel only seems to move in the expanding direction. So, of course, the shoes are pressing too far against the drum. What am I doing wrong?? Mike

Like many, I really covet the Panasports, but am unwilling to fork over that kind of money. I found some 15" and 16" Rota RB wheels with the right offset, actually -4. I don't want extremely low profile tires, as it make the wheels look too modern for the car (to me). Probably 205 or 215 55's or 60's I do not want to lower the car either. Does anyone have any pics of z's on 15's 16's, not lowered. Of course I don't want it to look too tall, or have too much space b/w the top of the tire and the wheel well. I realize that it's all subjective. BTW, I am not racing, just driving hard on some of my favorite twisties around town. I want to leave the ride height the wa…

I notice a rear disc brake kit available on Ebay from a guy in Las Vegas. He has good feedback scores and perhaps he is a member here??? It appears to use an machined adapter and Maxima brake calipers. Anyone using this? What experiences did you have with install and use? My drums are about shot and I see they are NLA!

Hello all, I've been lurking for a year or so since I bought a 2/72 z and I've come up with a question that after searching the site don't seem to see an answer so sorry if I missed a previous post that answers this. The issue is I'm replacing the rear wheel cylinders and the rear right is of a different design than the rear left. I Humble's book he says that the design was changed in 9/72, but he doesn't say that this change was specific to only one side. The person I purchased the new cylinders from said he never heard of just one side being different. MSA said that the rear right is different so I'm just doing a bit more due diligence to work this out with the person I…

I found out about this when I started looking for some spares before the Labor Day races at Barber Motorsports par. At that time there were 3 drums in Nissan's inventory (at $185/ea). I tried ordering from several places that said they had them in stock, but all were out. Further checking reveals that the company that was building them for Brembo has no current plans to make another production run unless they receive an order of 1500+. There is an Ebay vendor that I have bought from in the past that was listing a pair or drums for $349. I told a couple of Z racers about the drums and picked up several good used drums that should last me for a while. For those of you…

I just installed Toyota 4 piston calipers on my 72' 240Z. I noticed that there are no anti-squeal plates in the caliper box. Should there be? I did a search and found nothing that mentions anti-squeal plates for the Toyota calipers. Thanks,

Hi all. I have been reading through a few posts about the rear wheel bearings and had a look through the Atlantic Z Car club article on changing them. I am not sure my problem is bearings though. I was under my '75 260Z (Australian). I had it jacked up on stands with the hand brake on in readiness to swap the gearbox with a rebuilt one, and I was testing the uni-joints (I have a vibration when I release the accelerator at about 100kph). They seem ok (still planning to change them though). I noticed I had some play in the diff. I think I have always had some play, this is normal, right? What I noticed that concerns me is play in one wheel. I would rotate the propeller shaf…

I was looking at the stock rims that came with my car and figured with a little work would kinda look reminescent of the old porsche 550's. If I keep them, I want to replace the valve stems and this odd plug beside it. What is this plug? Is it a fuse plug like what's used on aircraft rims, that pops when overpressured from overheating? Regardless, where can I find a replacement? Is anyone else running the stock wheels painted or chromed with out hubcaps? Pics!

I've tried to find the answer to this question before I asked this so please bear with me on this question that seems so simple I don't know why I don't already know the answer to this. Anyways, here goes. What size tires will fit on 7 and 8 inch rims? width wise obviously. For my Z i want something like 245/45 on either 16s or 17s whichever will fit, but I'm just curious as to which rim width I would need for 245 wheels. Thanks alot,
