Anybody have a good supplier of original parts? Primarily a center cap for a '80 280 ZX 10th Anniversary wheel. My cap had the center plastic portion fall out on the way to a show. I want a good condition OEM since the car only has 6600 miles on it and is in showroom condition.

Black Dragon doesn't have the stock street pads for the 280Z, but they have some semi-metallic ones. Would there be any problems using the semi-metallic pads with the stock rotors? thxZ

i've read through all the guides and played with all the calculators, but wheel fitment just confuses me... 73 240z with spring/strut combo. i know most people run 8 inches wide with 0 offset. would 15 x 8.5 inches wide, -6 offset on all 4 corners fit? i'd have rubbing/fitment issues right?

This problem, for now is the one that is stopping me (actually stopping me too much!) from getting to enjoy the car. 1972 Z stock setup, looks like pre september 1972 construction but not entirely sure of build date yet. When driving 4-6 miles the rear brakes heat up and expand until there is no ability to coast at all. Here is what has been done to the car so far: Rear brakes disassembled and cleaned, contact points cleaned and lubed, wheel cylinders disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt no interior pitting, shoes cleaned and checked for proper install, shoes have cut out for adjuster/ebrake to pass through the shoe. Pedal travel measures normal spec. Hand brake operates…

Yesterday I changed my Brake Booster and 7/8" Master Cylinder (both rebuilt). I set the pushrod on the new Booster to the same length as the old Booster. The new MC isn't the same manufacturer as the old MC. One is Nabco the other is Tokico - I just don't remember which is which. The old MC had the bleeder screws on the fender side (left) while the new MC has the bleeder screws on the engine side (right). Does anybody know if the pushrod distance should differ any for the different makers of Master Cylinders? And what is the flat-head screw on the side of the MC for/do? Thank you, Terry

Will the booster and master from an 81 ZX swap to a 75 Z? My Z has rust in the master and the booster is very rusty as well. But my ZX parts car has a decent looking master and booster. I'd like to swap them if possible. Thanks

So my wheels came in yesterday and I was doing some dry fitting. I will need a spacer for sure being that my wheels have a 20 mm offset. I am putting 7.5's on the front with 225/45/17's and the back will be 8.5's with 245/45/17's. My question is will the 245's fit back ther without coilovers? or should I just go with say a 235 or 225? I know some of this has been covered but this issue for me is still unclear and I want to go get some rubber on these things! also do any of you reccomend a 20mm spacer or 10mm for the rear? it is going to be close! Thanks for any advice! It is very helpful to have experienced people to go to for answers! Paul

I rotate rims from my other vehicles every so often an my Z gets left out of the fun because of its outdated bold pattern. I've been looking over the internet and I've found several options for converting my 71 240z from 4 to 5 lug. bolt on adapter: http://www.ezaccessory.com/Wheel_Adapter_4_Lug_100_To_5_Lug_4_5_p/4100-5450.htm aluminum hub swap: http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=71 and complete brake/hug packages from various sources. My question is has anyone done this recently? Are there alternative or cheaper solutions?

I searched...but not sure I found my solution... Brakes were pulling pretty hard to the left on the '71. Took the right caliper off and sure enough, one of the pistons was seized. Replaced with rebuilts and bled the system (RR, RL, FR, FL). Took the car out for a test drive. Pedal feel is nice and strong, but the stills pulls to the left. Not quite as strong mind you...before it felt as if the steering wheel was being pulled out of my hands. Now feels more like a wash out and the nose goes left... Rear proportioning valve? If so, how do I adjust. If not, anything else it could be? Thanks,

When I got my Z, they were supposed to come with 4 extra "stock" rims, aside from the ones that are on the car now. Anyways, the guy kind of flaked out on me and I was left with only the 2 that were in the car at purchase. I was kind of bummed to only have 2 now, because I wanted them on the car if they were originals. I do like the look of them and will hope to come by 2 others. So, are they the original 280Z stock rims? The positive is that all the tires on the rims are in really good condition, so I won't have to buy new ones anytime soon. Thanks! This one was the spare in the well. Rim in question All three

Hey guys, interesting brake problem here (I'm assuming it's the brakes)... I was about to pull out of the driveway, put it in R, and gave it some gas and the car wouldn't move. Put it in 1st and it wouldn't move. Like the handbrake was staying engaged or something. Then I put it in R again and gave it a little more gas and something from the rear half of the car went SNAP and I could go. But now, when I put just a little pressure on the brake pedal, the car stops hard. And the pedal is kinda spongy as well, on top of everything else. It's pouring down rain at the moment, so I can't really take a look right now. Any thoughts? Thanks! PS The handbrake has always been r…

I have these "American Racing" rims. They are ok, the only issue I have with them are the Caps (faded & plasticy) - I am also missing one that I will most likely not try to find a replacement for. These are supposedly put on, and then the rim is slid on over them. The question I have is, can I get some authentic Z caps that would fit onto the center peg, and would they fit? Is that center lug area stock? (ie part of the car) Thanks! With the Cap (center) Without the Cap
