Hey guys, I'm currently looking around for a 240z or 280z in decent condition to use as a beater car for school and while I'm working on my Z32 swap. Apparently my price range is somewhere between $1500 and $2500, so.... that means $2500 :classic:. I've been looking DESPERATELY trying to find one IN Texas that suits my needs and isn't just a heap of junk. The main reason why I need a second car is to give myself a piece of mind that my current Z32 wont be broken into up here at school. Recently, the Campus Police posted fliers and sent out mass emails warning students of a huge uprising of on-campus vehicle burglary. Last year my car was broken into at this exact same…

I need a wiring harness for a 1972 240z as mine is fried. Manufacture date is 09/72. I am the original owner and it has over 198,000 miles on it and going for more. I drive it every day to the office and really need it. Does anyone know where I could get a new or used one.

I would like a good hood emblem for a '72. For the time being, until I get my hood off to have dents pounded out, I will put an old Studabaker round hood emblem on over the two holes. It is about the same size and who would know the difference? Would that be sacrilegious?

I just wanted to thank all of you who replied to my thread. Your comments and advice really helped me out. I just got a new job, and with it I will be able to purchase the poor 240Z that needs so much TLC. I decided I want to pursue the project as long as the guy doesn't sell the car before I can buy it. so thanks to: laffeaux, 2ManyZs, Marty Rogan, and Ed If I get the car I will be doing all the work myself and I will post many updates to show her progress. I also wouldn't mind a few extra hands, so if anyone is interested and they live in the North Illinois Suburbs, leave me a message. Thanks Again.

My brother and I both have mechanical experience, and are interested in building/restoring a '72 240Z for our mother... She and our father had one when they were stationed in Taiwan (before either of us were born...)-Being where they were, in the Vietnam era, and being that our Dad was in the military , they had to ship out, and were not allowed to bring anything NEAR the size of a car with them... My brother and I have vowed to rebuild one for my mother, and want it to be a total surprise... So... 1. We need to find a car in the Midwest somewhere (We live in southern Wisconsin...) 2. We are not looking for something pretty , but it needs to run... It doesn't need to run…

Has anyone seen the dealer installed hood vent that was used for overheating problems? I was wondering if anyone has one or knows where to get an identical aftermarket one. Since I haven't seen one or heard anyone talk about it, there must not have been many installed. Thanks, Vic.

I have a 1973 240z and have an original steering wheel that has no horn pad and no horn ring(metal ring that touches the copper contactunder the wheel center). Essentially, all I have is the steering wheel shell with none of the other parts. Does anyone have these parts that I will need to mount the steering wheel and make the horn functional? Thanks. tanny@frontier.net

Hey Everyone, I am a new member, but a long time fan of the Z. I am currently looking to buy one, and I had the good fortune to find one. The person is asking $1200 and I think he will come down to $1000, but I am not sure what it is really worth. The car is a 1971 Datsun 240Z and it has an L28 motor in it. Please look at the attached pictures and let me know what you think. The cars runs fine from what I know, and really just needs some new brakes (on the mechanical side) The body definately needs some work. Is it worth $1000? I know he put about $3500 into it, but it sure doesnt look like it. :devious:
