It looks like this may be an original Scarab on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-1-OF-18-1976-DATSUN-Z-ORIGINAL-CALIFORNIA-SCARAB-CAR-153_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQihZ012QQitemZ220267073326QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Sounds like it doesn't have the original engine installed by Scarab, though. Not sure how that effects the value, or even what the value of these cars are. -Mike

Has anyone ever used a Buick v8 for a swap? My uncle Tim Henderson passed away the week before Thanksgiving this year, and I was thinking since he was a Buick nut and was responsible for me having z-cars, I would like to build a z with his Buick 340 v-8 That was for his 66 skylark. He always tried to talk me into a v-8 swap, and I think it would be cool to build this z as a tribute to him. Would this be about the same as a chevy swap?

Hi Guys, I was hoping to develop some sort of definitive list of parts easily used from other makes of cars to upgrade perished or out of date Z systems (not including motors) I have noticed a lot of mention with various mazda and honda parts, so if we coallate all this info in one spot I think it will be a very useful resource. Items that spring to mind are: Radiators Air Conditioning Systems Heater Assemblies Blower motors Power steering racks Fuel tanks Feel free to add more based on your own experience Please try to be MAKE, MODEL and YEAR specific and include a short summary of what modifications if any are required. Thanks guys. *************************************…

Here's a pic of my Z that I recently painted in my garage. It still needs some final polishing and a couple little things here and there, but it's mostly done. I'm planning on taking her to the JCCS in October, so if you see me there be sure to stop and say hello. -Bart

Greetings all, Attached are two scans from the Nov. 1971 issue of Hot Rod magazine, featuring a 240Z powered by a small block Chevy. This was years before the Scarabs appeared. (You may have to save the files to your computer in order to zoom in.) This is the earliest reference to a V8 Z that I know of. Enjoy!

Just wanted to let people know my experience converting from a single bar front strut brace to the unit offered by MSA (triangulated brace). Install was pretty simple....as far as aftermarket parts go anyway! I did have to do a little modification to the mounting tabs that attach to the lip on the firewall. They were a tad on the long side and had to shorten them approximately 1/4", as well as, flatten the rearward most part of the tube the tabs are attached to. A few taps with a hand held adjuster reduced the slight curve to a straight section.....fits perfectly now and the small taps with the hand held are not visible. I couldn't hardly beleive that after the slight adj…

Hey I am looking at adding a BRE spook to my 280Z. Yes a little different. I am a little concerned of what it may look like, but either way I am considering buying one and trying it from a group called Futo Fab. Does anyone know anything about them? Does anyone have any experience with their work? I have contacted them and seems ok, but I wanted to check with all of you that have years of experiences. I wanted a nice quality carbon fiber front spook and MSA and showcars have had some not so positive reviews. Please let me know anything you can about them. The price seems good and here is the link of their work on a 510 spook spoiler: http://datsun510.com/photopost/showgal…
