I went to the dyno yesterday and I'm a bit disappointed in the result. my first run was at the stock setting psi and got 190 wrhp, AF was very good so i took it up to 10pis and got 198wrhp and AF mixture still but when i tried to go 12 psi it started to ping and the guy had to back off, then i was like try 15 psi,( 15psi is where i would like to run) so he get on it and if start to ping so he get off again this time we make 215 wrhp but only got the RPM up to 5500. So i have a Ford 460 rebuild bored 30 over and I was thinking about dropping it into the 72 240 mostly because I have so much trouble with the original motor.. its fixable but I just feel done with it.. The motor is out of my fathers truck and he doesn't want it anymore... I was thinkin about making a drag car out of it.. the motor as it sits puts out close to 500 HP. I figure with some slight mods it will be BAD!!!!.. but help me out... So what kind of project may I be getting myself into? any heads ups or anything of the sort? Thanks guys Jake

Hey guys, A co-worker of mine was telling me about how hes rebuilding a show truck and how he had a 351 Cleveland that came originally in the truck, and he said he wants to get rid of it. I heard that small block ford motors fit awesome in the engine bays of Z's, but would a 351 Cleveland? And has anyone done it to their car, so I can get some tips? Thanks guys

Hi, my name is Brendan I'm new to this forum. I have a 77' 280Z 5spd. I plan to autocross the car. I would prefer to stay N/A. Weight is a big factor for me. I need some help coming up with the correct swap. I was thinking sr20de with vg30de pistons to raise to 12:1 compression with supporting mods. I'm open to all ideas. Thanks. Brendan

Probably costs a lot for the conversion in the long run, but this looked like a good deal to start with for those interested in the GT250 look. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230198962067&rd=1

I'm doing the RB25DET in a 260Z conversion and wondered whether the Skyline brake servo will fit OK. I have an old 260Z servo but not sure how well it operates, also have a good Skyline servo with master cylinder. They are both approx. 7.5" diameter and the linkage lengths are approx. the same. Will need to change the bolt holes positions and widen out the bulkhead aperture but apart from that are there any other issues / reasons why I can't ? Has anyone tried this ? Also, any problems using the 260Z clutch master cylinder with the RB25DET slave unit ? Do I need to use the Skyline cylinder to make the standard clutch operate correctly ? Note - I have also posted the same …
