So, Im pretty serious about buying a 280z, and crammin in a 302 chevy. Im about to buy a rollin chassis, but i got to thinking about how cramped it is. What are some common problems that v8z's have? Is it hard to change plugs, oil filter, and so on. How bout exhaust, i was lookin under a 280, and theres hardly any room. What should i expect?

considering a swap into an early z and was wondering if anyone had considered a small rover v8, such as the 3.5L version. i know these can be built to just over 300 horses at the flywheel, and would be better on fuel than a 350. any info would be great

I have a 1979 280zx, and two parts cars, a 79 and an 82. I took both 79 bumpers off figuring I could make one good one out of the two, but after taking them apart, I found out they are both shot. My 82 parts car has the all plastic bumpers front and rear. Would I be able to use these bumpers on my 79? What modifications would be needed? If not, does anyone know where I could get a front bumper for the 79? THANKS

Hello, I am looking at buying a 1975 280z, I am asking to see if his price is correct. The int, has no carpet, torn seats, but a good dash, the body is all primer, but it has a crease in the fender, the body as no rust, all it need is to be painted. The Engine is a RB20DET, with 47000 miles, the transmission is the same milleage with a two week old stage 3 clutch, he is asking 4K is this price right? Thanks alot.

Hey, I have a 240Z with Sr20det installed and am now venturing out into the realm of the Z31. (and am very excited about it! :classic: ). I really like the front bumper on the 87-89 Z31's but i've found a nice turbo 86 (i think its an 86) and would like to know if i can easly bolt on the 89 front bumper to it. Is this easly done? are the 86 front fenders any diffrent from the 89's fenders? I havent gotten up close and personal with any Z31's so i'm sorry if i'm asking stupid questions. :stupid: . And how about the rear taillights from the 89 onto the 86, that possable? Thanks!

got the engine swap done ( Built 2600 with 83 zx 5 sp) question is clutch adjustment. are all the componets from the 77 supposed to work with the tranny, clutch master, slave piston shaft length. seems like I need alittle more pedal for clutch depression. engages and disengages aprox 1 to 2 inches from the floor, lots of top pedal! clutch is a center force dual, whatever that means, and is relatively new. system has a new outa box slave and has been bled well! Thanks in advance. heres acouple pics of the new.

I am soon to be at the stage where I turn the Z upside down and coat the underside of the floor with Bedliner, rubberized undercoating, or something similar. What areas did those of you who have been here before leave uncoated-what areas need to be left clear mounting-if any? My wondering is due to this synergy: when conventionally undercoarting, the mounting surface are protected from buildup by what ever is mounted to them/undercoating with no suspension (or protection of the mounting areas thereof) will add 1/16"-1/4" to the suspension tollerances. It may be no issue, but I would rather ask and look stupid, than apply it and have to spend a day removing permanent ma…
