Hey guys, for no reason at all, i just felt like asking: When people swap L28ET's into a 280Z, what do they change in terms of the electrical system? and what about a Twin Turbo l28, what goes on with the electric system their? i just thought it would be interesting to read up on. Thanks.

After some research I have decided to go with a higher compression turbo motor. What I would like to know is what would be the best way to rase the compression on a turbo motor. When I use the LENGINE program there are two options I can go with. First being if I were to put a N42 head on the turbo block it would yield 8:5:1 or if I went with flat top pistons and p90 head it will yield 8:8:1compression. Which will be the better way to rase the compression and why? Thanks

I'm at a crossroads; I'm going to be rebuilding my stock L26 this coming summer and before I do I want to make sure it's the motor I want, ya know? I have thought heavily about dropping in a stroked ZX turbo straight 6 (stroked to 3.1 liters) with a high-performance, hi-boost turbo (such as a GReddy T-78, but I'll prob just go for a hybrid t3/t4 ball bearing turbine), a large FMIC, hi-flow fuel system, and all the other stuff needed. Of course, I would also get the 5-speed manual trans with the engine and beef it up accordingly (new clutch, flywheel, ect). OR, I can rebuild my L26, toss those boat anchor SU carbs for some rebuilt to "Better than new" condition 70-72 SU'…

Hey guys, how's everyone? I bought a 1976 280Z rolling chassis back in February, I have a 350SBC from a '71 Camaro w/ 2 bolts main. The engine is under working progress right now. The project had come to a stop at the moment.....cash issues. Anyway...the link below is my project. http://www.astigracing.com/022104.htm -John-

What Skyline tranny is needed for a RWD RB26DETT swap into a 280z? I've searched as best as I could, and am unclear on which tranny I can use. The places I've found online have the RB26DETT & tranny from the same car, but don't say if its AWD, RWD, etc. I'm assuming I will need the RB25DETT RWD tranny to go with the engine. There is a shop up in Canada that sells this hybrid setup for $4900 USD, is this too steep or about right? Also, isn't the front diff built into the engine oil pan? Is there any aftermarket pan replacements if thats the case? Or can I use a pan off of the RB25DETT? Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Now ive been doing alot of reading on higher compression turbo motors, and im really liking the idea of it, i posted this on www.zilvia.net too, but i wanted to get some opinions here as well im looking to put an rb 20-25- or even 26 in it, but what i want is the ultimate response maching i know on sr20's its possible to put the natural aspirated pistons to up the compression a little, yielding better response Option:1 RB20DET N/A SR20DE Pistons (giving 9.5-1 compression) Equal length tubular manifold 3 inch elbow full 3inch catless exhaust custom intake plenum, maybe ITB's if feasable Light Flywheel Aluminum driveshaft 4.11 gear r200 electric fans s15 t28 b…
