New to the older s cars I know just about everything about the new ones. 1. I'm looking for the cheapest yet still reliable v8 kit for the 240z ( i heard there was something called the "scareb kit") 2. Also, got to get rid of that ugly bumper set up. Is there a kit I can get so that when I take those things off i can replace them with a bumper that looks less like a bumarange? Web sites... 3.Also looking for wheel flares and other aftermarket body kit stuff any info on that? 4.What suspension ugrades am I going to need for this to pull 12's? I'm also looking to do autocross stuff witht the z. Where do I get them? 5. I'd like make the thing look like this at least the body…

Hey everyone, Im new here but i been a big fan of Zed cars for a long time now. I live in Sydney Australia and as eveywhere those cars are very rare here as well. Im planning on getting a 240Z and 260Z to do a complete restore. The plan is to keep the 240Z in its calssic form as they are pretty much collectable items but 260Z will be modified with Turbo engine of some kind. So the question is which one is faily easy to transplant into 260 engine bay ... considering the engine bay is so big in these cars you can put pretty much anything in there ... but where are easy then others? Will the Turbo 2.8L engine form 280zx fit into 260z without major modifications? I been told …

http://www.xu1.net/users/eram/home.html searched the other supercharger treads but they were based on belt driven versions, this seems to be a good idea, but at $500 for 6% max gain would it be worth it, it only operates at full Throttle. my car has a L20 fuel injected, roughly 70 hp right (im gussing) 6% gain would equal 4.2 hp is that cost effective, when compared to power gained. id like to keep the l20 but a little more power cant hurt are there any disadvantages to this method or could i spend the 500 and gain more from doing other mods. thanks in advance for imparting your wisdom.

OK, I have all the basic knowledge of how the turbo system works, and how to incorperate it with my early Z.. BUT!!! One Part I just dont quite get......... "Timing". stock 76' is 8 deg. (+/- 2 )..... 81'-82' turbo 20 deg... and 83' is 24 deg. 1) Why would you Advance the timing on a turbo system??? 2) Can someone help me understand why with a system that you dont want detonation!!, would you have the spark start sooner?? 3) Is there something about the increased cylinder pressures that slows combustion??? or do I have something wrong in my thinking this out?? Any help appreciated, aZcarbum

Hello all, As you can tell by the "Subject" im new to this forum and would like to say hello to all othe fellow Z owners,and to tell you a little something about myself. I have had all kinds of Z's so far, my first Z was a Black 1977 280z it was pretty much stock but lowered and all the windows tinted.After that car i had a 1974 260z with a very heavy mod's done to the stock 6 in it,now i have a 1973 240z with a 1993 5.0 Ford with the 5 speed under her hood. Just got my August edition of Hot Rod. It did a story on the "Pump Gas Drags" They invited 50 of the fastest street cars running pump gas. 41 showed up. Mark Eggers of Clearwater Florida wound up 31st. Here's the story verbatim.
