I have decided to go through with a swap I have been contemplating for a long time. I have an older 240z engine built up mildly (Cam and valves) but after pulling the head off i can see a few cylinder walls are trash. It has an 83mm bore which from my understanding is stock 2.4l and the options I am seeing is bore it to clean it up and then gain some hp but I would have to but oversized pistons, or if it is possible put the heads on my l28 280z engine and do a rebuilt on it and bore it out a little and do some modifications. I only recently got into the Datsun world so I dont know a whole lot but if you guys have any better ideas I would love to hear them. I am 17 and my 280z is my senior year project.

I am thinking about boring my 240z engine I have after pulling it apart and seeing piston number 3 is rusted and pitted but everything else seems to be fine. So my thought process is i could get it bored out to 90mm vs the 83 it has now and it would solve the pits on the sleeve problem. Does anyone know any good aftermarket flattop pistons and also oversized or just higher performance valves. and last but not least what am i getting in to if i want to do a bore on it do i have to change heads or can i keep everything else and be fine.

Hi everybody, So I am wondering if anyone has used the alternator upgrade KIT from MSA? Motorsport! 60-Amp Alternator Upgrade Kit, 70-73 240Z - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts Is that alternator decent, or should I really get a rebuilt-280-one? Any recommendations of an alternator that is compatible and good quality, but not too expensive? Thanks!

Funny enough, as I'm getting ready to write this up for you guys, I see some one has one on doing power windows in a (240K). I'm going to do a full spread (with pictures and step by step stuff) on power windows in a 240Z. "Why" you ask? 1) Cause when I'm buckled up (seatbelt) into my 70' 240Z, There is NOOO reaching the passenger side window without almost causing an accident. 2) When it's hot outside and you don't have the luxury of A.C, It'll be nice to hit the switch and roll down the window. 3) It'll get me browny points with the Wife, cause she too has trouble getting to the handle when she is buckled in. I have a 73 240z with no electric fuel pump. I just installed the ZXP plug and a 280zx 60amp alternator. The new alternator appears to have a cut out on the back of it. Do I need to unplug the one that was bolted to the external voltage regulator? Thanks

1978 280z, cut out filter from insid gas tank, was rusted, any advise on inline filter between gas tank and fuel pump, small glass filters can't handle fuel enjected pressures, also check valve from gas tank to emissions cantainer is rusted open, cannot find replacement anyware, thanks James zdonka@yahoo.com

Your probably all gonna kill me over this:p But I pulled the SU's off my 240z, and put on this Skyline P90 intake on it (I ported the hell outta the intake to match the carb). The carb is a 2 barrel carter I pulled off a dodge 273 and rebuilt. It seems to be running considerably better than my SU's, but with maybe a very slight bit less power. However the SU's could've used a good rebuild, and I'm still tinkering with this setup. Ive still got the choke to hook up and it needs filters and a better fix for a couple of the vacuum lines then Im gonna give it a cold air intake.

Hi, im a guy from Norway that just have bought me my dream. 71 240z from USA. It will arrive to Norway in the start of March. See link. I have to convert the taillight to Euro mod, i was thinking of using MUstang 05- taillights. What do you guys and girls think of that?
