Hey guys I just wanted to share with yall the strokification of my s30. Here’s what’s happened thus far. Took the Datsun Parts LLC stroker to Ericks Racing Engines. There I had them disassemble the block in preparation for balancing, since I heard LLC just slapps their stuff together like that. Lone behold I find dirt under the head gasket (see attached image)!! I’m having Elias Alaniz take care of the porting. He did a baseline run of both my p90 and n42. At low lift the p90 beat the n42, but the same could not be said twards the higher numbers. Ill post a list of values so yall can check em out soon. So far hes pulled off 208 cfm .550 valve lift 28" of H20,…

In theory one could drill out and install efi bungs on a triple carb's intake manifold then just use the carbs as throttle valves only. Removing the venturi's or reshaping would open up the upstream. Just a thought. The only applications I can think of are carb vs EFI dyno tuning convenience or using both at the same time so that carbs run slightly lean at ~90% of the fuel demand and the EFI acts as a tweaker to make up the rest to a finer precision.

I explained to the guy who's shop it's in there are three ways I can do re-wiring. Fast, correct, and beautiful. Choose two. Reliable might be a fourth, or an aspect of "correctly." Soldered and heat-shrunk connections are going to take far longer to complete and last years longer than crimped connections, as well as being impervious to water. I discovered a new technique. I use safety wire (or twister ties) to bundle all my wires until I'm all done. I put off taping and looming until EVERYTHING is complete, tested, and the vehicle running. That way adding or subtracting a wire from a particular bundle doesn't mean repeatedly looming an…

I have made only one set of 240Z LED tail lights for the sole purpose of selling on this site only. If you have seen my "posi burn out" video and noticed them there or even seen my gallery, you'll know what I'm talking about. Here's what the lucky winner will get... One set of 240Z tail lights (Left & Right) They have been torn apart, cleaned, polished, refitted with Super Brite L.E.D.'s (14,000 mcd) and wired to run the same as most tail lights are (parking lights on upper half and brake lights are both upper and lower sections. I polished the plastic as best as I could. I removed the inner reflective plates and reworked one of them for eac…

Im looking for an ecu to run my L28ET swapped 240z and cannot find any real definitive answers. The engine has 440cc injectors, a mild cam, porting and an adjustable fuel regulator. What ECU would be cheapest to buy and fastest to get running?

Hey guys, I just bought a '74 Z (my first Datsun after YEARS of drooling over them), and I'm hoping you seasoned experts can help an enthusiastic newb! I have always loved the look of the zg flares, so I think I'm going to go that route. Now, my question is, is there an ideal wheel size and offset that fits nicely with those flares? I've been in the Subaru scene for about 10 years, and after going through countless sets of aftermarket wheels, I just can't seem to wrap my head around how to properly calculate offset. I tried searching this question, and I found a bunch of offset calculators, but without knowing exactly how wide my wheel is going to be, I can't pin dow…

Can anyone give an overview of "Bob Sharp Racing Springs and Struts"? The IMSA 240z I picked up has them according to the PO but I have not had a chance to disassemble the car yet and see what lurks beneath. It certainly is lower than a stock Z.

I hope this is in the correct forum for this but it seems I have a coil dilemma. A PO for my 4/73 240 put in an L28 with electronic ignition but left the coil's ballast resistor in place and hooked up. Now I am trying to determine if I have the 240 coil and should leave the resistor hooked up or do I have a 280 coil and can remove the resistor. The car seems to run fine but as always I want to get the most bang for my buck. I have measured the resistance of the primary and secondary windings and find that, except for the a low reading on the primary for a 240 and a little high for a 280 (mine is 1.1ohms on the primary while the 240 FSM says 1.5-1.7 ohms and the 280 FSM …

Hydrogen Z? 1 2

I ran into a guy today in Corvallis, OR who has a 240z running on Hydrogen. I introduced myself and asked him to come and visit the club. Anyway, the brief conversation I had with him was interesting. He popped his hood and showed me some kind of container that looked like a water filter connected to the intake on the engine. The whole conversation lasted about 5-10 minutes but I would like to know more about this kind of modification. He also mentioned a hydrogen fuel cell in the car. But, I was thinking the whole time this must be some kind of fuel cell technology? Separation of the hydrogen from the oxygen (ie: water car). I don't know much about it, but, when …

Hey guys, The PO(s) cut a lot of the factory wiring in the V8 conversion of my 73 . I'm trying to locate where the tach wiring might have exited the firewall to the engine bay. I'm looking for a BLK/WHT". I think this one would have gone to the positive side of the coil. Thanks for any thoughts. Happy Motoring today!
