Here's a link to a Hemmings article about how car values have fared compared to stock market investments based on information in the Wall Street Journal. The 1971 240Z is one of the 50 cars tracked since 2004. http://tinyurl.com/9r2r6bn Dennis

I recently purchased a 1972 240z. It was resprayed 10 years ago and paint is real nice still. I have a few minor spots to touch up and spent 3 hours at a paint shop trying to find the code . I tried #115 which has the white interior for this exterior paint (mine has this, original) and it's not it. I spotted a few Datsuns online with the same blue but I don't know the code. email at cnpbaker@sympatico.ca

I was reading about the Ruby Ridge incident that happened 20 years ago since it was mentioned in an article on yahoo. I found this video on youtube, and just noticed that at the 0:58 mark it shows a 240z in the background behind the family. Kind of a trivial detail, but an interesting story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi5uN212a78&feature=player_embedded

http://www.motortrend.com/future/future_vehicles/1207_nissan_working_on_mini_z_to_target_frs_brz/ Not too crazy about the styling, but I do like that Nissan is going back to small affordable fun quality cars!

I'll preface by saying I don't buy lottery tickets. In general, I don't enjoy gambling. This morning I had a 90 minute drive to a project site and was listening to sports talk radio (The Herd). The host was talking about the big jackpot lottery and was deriding people who said "if I win I'll quit my job and travel", or some other non-job thing. He said he'd never do that because he'd be bored in a few months. He loves to travel, but is ready to come home in a week or two. He said if he won he'd buy a MLS (soccer in the U.S., football elsewhere) team and run it. He likes sports and that would keep him busy. I got to thinking, well I like Z cars. How would I spend some of t…

I bought a 1974 260z this past weekend and along with this Z came a non running "parts" Z that had a ton of extra parts, motor and transmission. My main question to everyone is this.... My '74 260z appears to have on its stock carbs but the parts Z had 2 sets of different carbs: flat tops from another Z and double barrel webber carbs on a cannon intake. What is the best choice for me knowing I will have to rebuild the 2 extra carbs?

I hope everyone will be able to watch NASA TV this evening/tomorrow morning - to see how the latest probe to Mars turns out. "Curiosity" is the largest and most complex probe set to Mar so far - it's about the size of a small car! It's due to land on Mars 9:30 - 10:30 PM CALIFORNIA Time this evening. http://www.ustream.tv/nasahdtv On a personal note: Steve Lee - one of the Entry, Desent, Landing {EDL} Engineers on the project - started his Engineering Career working with me in the CAD Systems Dept. of Honeywell Space Systems, in the mid 80's. One of Steve's first assignments was to evaluate the AutoCad Software - to see if it was robust enough to use within the Design Se…

Been awhile just wanted to check in and see what everyone is up to. I have put my Z in storage for now as my job moves me from place to place. I lost my parts cars and most of my tools when the tornados hit Vilonia. I got married last year to my best friend and now trying to get her through collage. On my time off I have taken on a new project. 2002 Yamaha R6 Paid 350.00 for it. Have 900 in parts its work 4k.

By now you've all heard about the massacre in Aurora, Colorado. 12 dead, 71 injured, many critical. The thing I always think after these sorts of things is "Didn't the guy have any hobbies?" I couldn't go on a rampage, that wouldn't let me get my Z fixed up! There will be parts arriving next week! Doesn't this kid go fly fishing, ride bikes with a group of friends every Sunday, work on old sports cars, have ANYTHING to look forward to IN THE FUTURE that going on a rampage would prevent him from doing? I heard, after getting his college degree, (honors in neuroscience) the only job he could get was flipping burgers at a McDonalds. Frustrating, for sure. But when I …
