bought a new floor jack yesterday on sale $119 ( regular $159) plus tax. it's a 1.5 ton which is heavy duty enough for changin tires and oil. it'll only go to 15" high max and is low profile. not sure if this is high enough to get jack stands under. i was using my brother's 3 ton jack but it barely lifts the wifes car to change tires. had to pump many times to get maximun lift. hope it holds up for a few years, these jack don't have a good reputation for quality.

Returned my f150 from a three year lease yesterday. Not really interested in getting another vehicle, but gave the salesman a few minutes of my time anyway. He was wondering why I was not getting another truck and I told him - I dont want a gas guzzler and a lower hp vehicle was not useful or appealing. He says check this out and shows me the specs on the Eco Boost f150. V6 Twin turbo 365 hp, 420 f/lb torque @ 2500 rpm. Gets 29 mpg (cdn) highway, 20 city - full tow package - rated to pull 11,000 lbs. Took it for a spin, this is the crazy part - it pulls like my 300Z. Without traction control on it breaks free vitually every time you hit the gas. Very small T lag. Anyway…

Was in the process of gaining access to my non functioning power antenna and I noticed this sitting in the wheel well area. Thought nothing of it until I unfolded it and realized what it was. Cripes, this has been riding around in there since the car was built in '74:classic: Reminded me of stories I used to hear about Detroit iron of the mid 60's with soda cans rattling around in the fenders. I'm going to stick it on Ebay and see what I can get for it;) Dean

Wonder if i can ask a favor. We have a club member here in Calgary seriously considering buying this Z, http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/2243827103.html is there anyone close enough to it to maybe have a look see and do the usual due dilligence to check it out? Any one know this car from past experience? if you do get the urge to go check it out, even for your own consideration, please let me know what you think at z240@shaw.ca Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Bright headlights at night. It seems a lot of people are driving with highbeams on and don't know or care. Being in a lower slung Z car I can understand that trucks and SUVs and some larger higher stance cars would be shining more towards my windshield but then again maybe the lights aren't positioned right. From the back the answer is easy enough, limo window tint - but then the lights in the side mirrors shine right back in my eyes. Sometimes I'd like to shoot something back - lead or intense spot light - but I'm expected - as an elder statesman so to speak; to set a better example. Anyone else notice this?

Last week I went to Florida for a week or so and gave Jim, owner of all the cars below a call to stop by and check out his garage. If you are ever in the Tampa area or within driving distance I would say it is worth the trip. Jim is a stand up guy and knows his Z stuff. Enough of me, time for some pics: The man himself outside the garage: Bone dry 1/70 car waiting its turn: 1970 FairLady: HLS30-00058: Floors!

From what I can gather to a big company with very little specific interest in Z's beyond a way to make money from advertising. I am looking forward to making this my first stop on the Z trail from now on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=1_kwxzU4wL4&vq Not YORGO words but from a Comrade: "Here's a link to a Shell commercial shown in Europe. Ostensibly, they're selling gasoline, but the cars used in the video steal the show. Ferrari pulled several of their race cars from various ages out of storage, flew them around the world, and filmed them running through the streets of Rome, Rio, New York, Hong Kong, Honolulu, and Monaco. No CGI -these are the original cars on the original streets. The best part is the sound - from the basso-profundo notes of the early, front-engine era, each scene cuts to a later generation, ending with the wail of a modern F1 car. The sound…

Dogtown & Z-Boys – what a great documentary! Did you ever ride skate board? When did you start? Where did you ride? I spent my teen years in San Francisco & first rode on steel wheels. Bought my 1st “real board w/ clay wheels & nicely finished wood in 1968– which I immediately slapped a STP sticker on. Did you ride? Do tell…
