For those of you who know about Gran Turismo, you certainly have been eagerly awaiting the recent installment, the holy grail of all driving games. GT5. If I had a $ for every time this game has been set to be released over the past few years.... Well I would have enough to buy a nice dinner and a few beers It is finally official after a short delay from the attempted Nov 2nd date but it looks like it is well worth the wait. December 31st is now the date although I think there is a chance we might get it early for Xmas. The gameplay footage on youtube is from the UK where it was already just released. I prepaid on Amazon months ago and cannot wait!!!! This is actually …

I saw a preview of the new episode that will air tonight. I saw what looked like a Z (maybe Big Sam?) and some other Nissan race cars in the creation of the ultimate collection. It airs at 10pm east. I hope it's not another "Al Capone's vault." If so, I apologize in advance.

New Zealand is in mourning this evening after a second explosion in a coal mine on the west coast at Greymouth in the Pikes River coal mine in which 29 men have perished. Everything had been done to enter the mine safely after the first huge explosion five days ago and to locate these men, but sadly for the familys and the whole country this was not to be, as this afternoon another blast ripped through at least three km of tunnels, and there is no hope of survivors. This area has a sad history of men lost in tunnel explosions. The worst being Brunner 1897 when 65 men perished.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of those that enjoy their S30 cars. I will be further thankful if the snow that is falling stops before the road department starts spreading salt; because that will end my driving of my 240Z until the spring.

A group of us went to the NJ Motorsports Park in Millville NJ this weekend to go karting. I've gone karting a few times in the past, so I was excited to go again. We went with a group of 14, mostly adults and some teenagers too. I brought my 16 year-old son Connor. Connor and I use to race motocross so I knew he would like karts. He has just started driving (has about 5 miles experience) this week so I thought it would be a good driving lesson for him as well. First race of the day I took first. Not much of a surprise since I had taken a two-day karting class 12 years ago. Connor took 8th. Lots of trash talk ensued amongst the group, which is the best part of racing. Seco…

I'm not sure if anyone has covered the untimely passing of Mike, the co-owner of Sunrise Z in Glendale, California. In any case I'd like to share my thoughts about the very sad news I heard today. I called Sunrise to schedule a brake job appointment for my 96 300ZX. When I asked for Mike or Art, Chris had informed me of Mike's death which occurred a month ago. I have to admit that it was one of those moments where I had to pull the brakes in my world and take a moment to absorb the shock of it all. Mike was one of the reasons I have remained a loyal customer to Sunrise for over ten years. He was in my experience one of the last honest mechanics. He was always very plea…
