A Swiss court has fined a multimillionaire a record $290,000 for speeding through a village at 85 mph in his red Ferrari Testarossa, news outlets in Switzerland report. The fine is based on the unidentified speeder's wealth and his previous fast offenses. Swiss voters approved a penalty system that replaces prison for such crimes as speeding with "day fines" based on wealth — in this case $22.7 million. The fine is more than double the previous record, doled out to a Porsche driver in Zürich in 2008. Half must be paid upfront, and the rest is linked to good behavior during a two-year suspended sentence. "The accused ignored elementary traffic rules with a powerful vehi…

I ran into Brian Morrow, the former owner of SCARAB from back in the day at a hardware store. I had no clue who he was when he approached me but when I pulled up he saw my 240z and introduced himself and we wound up talking for a good 45 minutes at the front of the store and heard plenty of nostalgic stories. so yes, he is STILL ALIVE and kickin.

I was thinking about getting a CB radio for road trips, but which one? I don't think there room for a base unit, so I will probably need a handheld unit. So on the handhelds, what good ones are out there? Anything small, maybe with a microphone jack? thx

Every now and then I search the internet for RC Z cars. This particular search included the term LEGO because I'd love to make a Z out of them, but that's a different matter... Anyway, I came across this site and figured I'd share (surprised it's not been mentioned before-or if it has, it didn't show up in the search) http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/qsteer/products/products.html If you poke around the site, there are a fair number of Nissan products, and they all look pretty darn cool if you ask me (but you didn't. Still, I'm telling you they look pretty cool). Just figured if you were looking for a neat little gift for someone, well you get the idea.

It was another beautiful day in sunny Florida, with just enough cloud cover to keep things cool and comfortable. Just the day to stroll along the Z Cars at Jim Frederick's ZMeca. People were coming and going all day - but I did manage to get a few pictures in case you missed the gathering in Lutz. I've put a few pictures up on the server See: http://zhome.com/Dropbox/ZMecaChristmas09/Jims09Christmas.htm FWIW, Carl B.
