I was passively listening to Cash Cab tonight while browsing CZCC and the term "Z car" in one of the questions caught my attention. I promptly blipped the DVR in reverse and listened to the full question. Here it is for the rest of you. Seems a silly question from our perspective, but not common knowledge for many. I believe the contestants got it right. "Despite the popularity of its Z car, what automobile company was phased out by Nissan in 1983?" And the final answer is?

So I was reading ads for cars as I always do and I saw this one... It's a 240Z for sale in Vancouver BC and I couldn't help but laugh after reading his unbelievable description. http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/nvn/cto/1501604666.html "The most amazing, unique and tastefully fully done 1972 Datsun 240Z you will find. Over $60,000 spent on restoration plus over 1,000 hours of labour. The car has a fresh race-ready Datsun 2.8liter stroker race engine. The car has not been dyno tested but it is faster than a Nissan Skyline Turbo. I estimate it may have 325 hp +. These cars (once referred to as "The Poor Man's Ferrari") could do 150mph with the stock engine running on just…

One of my buddies over at the other site:ermm: dont hit me:stupid: wrote this, I think its awesome, Props to Zluster for this cheery Z Christmas poem. A Visit from Saint Nicholaz Twas the Night before Christmas and all through the town. Not a Z Car was zipping or cruising around. The stockings were hung by the tool box with care. In hopes that St. Nicholaz would leave something there. 300zxClub members were tucked in their beds, While visions of Zeds raced through their heads My car under cover and I in my cap, All I could think of was the summers last lap When out on the driveway there arose such a clatter I sprung from my 240 to see whats the matter. Awa…

ive been in the z community for almost a yr now and ive owend a z33,z32,z31 and s30 -obviously people love the z33 bc of them being new and very clean -the z32 may not have looked as good as the z33's but they were made for the speed crazy -the z31's however had the most sales out of the car time line (to my knowledge) with the digi dash they were pretty advanced for their time and ok speed with its single turbo. the body style was ok i can understand it didn't look that amazing but it was nice compared to most 80's cars -then we have the classic beauty of the s30's. old but that just adds to their style and beauty. fast and small for its age with the rare inline6. these…

The web site for the ZCCA Convention 2010 is up. http://www.zcon2010.com/ Many things are still in the planning stages, however registration is expected to open January 1st. This will be the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Z and the car show is Saturday at the Nissan North America headquarters. Start planning now. This should be a pretty big blowout. There will be a display of past gold medallion / gold cup cars, a racing legends reunion with cars and drivers, and a special NISSAN historic display with cars from the Zama facility in Japan.

Just wanted to throw a big thank you and boost to Roger at ZBarn. http://www.zbarn.com/ He saved my a** when i busted the driver's side brake line on my Z while redoing my rear suspension. Contacted him, answered very timely. Had the part and described it as in excellent condition. Received it very quickly in excellent condition (especially for a 38 year old part). He was a real pleasure to deal with and just felt like letting you all know I'm a very satisfied customer.

I'm planning on ordering an aftermarket A/C kit for my 1972 240Z in about 6 weeks so I'll have it when the car comes back from the paint shop. I've searched the previous A/C posts, gained some insight into Z air conditioning, but still have a few specific questions for you Z guru's... (especially Carl Beck). To start, here's what I gleaned from the previous posts: 1) The fan "pulls" through the heat exchangers, is not very powerful and limits cool air delivery. 2) There is poor circulation in the interior, limiting air conditioner effectiveness. (I'm planning to install a rear window louver that should help reduce the greenhouse effect). 3) On most of these sys…

No, not the 240Z. In fact, I sold this particular car 30 years ago! Amazingly, it looks as good or better today than it did when I sold it! http://bringatrailer.com/2009/11/22/clean-and-original-1975-cosworth-vega/

Hey guys, I'm not quite sure where to post this, but... I just got off the phone with Crane technical support, and their ignition components are on the shelves as of days ago. He recommended Nelson Specialties in N. Catalonia to me, a Canadian, as Crane does not do individual buys or sell (as of yet) anything to Canada and they are sure to be one of the first to recieve their new products. They are doing their official show/tour sometime in 2010, with cam/valve train products (which are not yet available). The following was taken from their website: http://cranecams.com/?show=crane-ss S&S Cycle acquired Crane's intellectual properties, patents, trademarks, camshaft…
