I am kicking around the idea of shipping my Z overseas to run a hillclimb. I met a fellow z guy in the UK a couple of years ago and while on business across the pond they happen to have a two day event at Gurston Downs http://www.gurstondown.org/ which I attanded. I camped out the weekend a met a ton of great people and the event was awesome. And, here I am thinking of shipping the Z over to run Gurston next year. So has anyone shipped a car overseas particularly from the Florida area. I know there is a roll on roll off ferry that leaves Jacksonville and lands in Salsbury which is about 30 minutes from Gurston. For all of you interested in Hillclimbs check out the web sit…

A Harley biker is riding by the zoo in Washington , DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I've seen a man do in my whole li…

It's been a long haul, but it's not over yet. The BlueOval Z has been a contestant in the Texaco "Car of the Decades" for 30 days with 1 more day left to go. Currently in 3rd the votes of the people will decide it's fate. As the only Datsun in the contest it's done surprisingly well. Two cars stand in front of it's victory for the 70's decade, and there are only about 70 Votes separating them. Just 70 votes needed. Now is the time to vote and propel the BOZ to 1st Place. Please take a minute to help. http://texacocarofthedecades.com/CarDetails.aspx?CarDetailID=73&Preview=False&Decade=1970

Obviously this thread is about what it is titled! I will be copying some parts of other threads here for illustrative purposes. I would really like the finger pointing to stop-it takes both an instigator and a reaction to have a problem-otherwise you simply have an invitation. We have several members who, in my opinion, demonstrate that: 1) He, she, or it are anxious(even come here specifically) to get in a fray. 2) He, she or it can't ignore an invitation to have a fray 3) He, she or it want this club to be a debate/berate forum, and not a group of people all out to gain understanding of some part of the complete story of their Z(s)! Along those lines: Please also rememb…

My wife is watching watching a new show on "Lifetime". I was in the living room playing a RPG (Neverwinter Nights), on my laptop when she told me to look-up. It's the premier of the show is "Hostile Make-Over". Early in the show the heroine drives a late 70's, silver/blue 280Z 2+2 into what appears to me a mechanic's shop. Even my wife (so far), finds the show "miss-able", but at least it has a Z...

Based on some comments in another thread, I purchased a Tokico suspension kit from shox.com for my 78 280z. My car is currently in the shop getting things installed, but the guys called with a question I cant answer. It seems that the front Tokico springs are a good 3 - 4 inches shorter than the stocksprings. No compression whatsoever was needed to get the springs back into the strut housing. When put back together, but before lowering the car back on the ground, the spring moves freely up and down by about an inch. Sound right????? Will this slack be taken up when the weight is put back on the strut? This all seems strange to me, and I'm wondering if the wrong spring…

Hi Guys, Texaco is having a contest to choose a winner of each decade from 1900 on. The Blue Oval Z is entered in of course the 1970's decade and is currently in 6th place. Figuring that the tough competition would come from the Ford, Chevy, Mopar camps solely based on their enormous size, the surprise has been the AMC guys. They have came out in support of a 1976 Pacer (and Purple no less)! I guess you have to admire the AMC camp for their support in making an AMC the car of the decade (but a Purple Pacer???). Here a link to the BOZ page. http://texacocarofthedecades.com/cardetails.aspx?Preview=False&CarDetailID=73&Decade=1970 At the bottom of the page is a …

http://www.cardomain.com/MakeModel/Datsun/240Z Just found out that I have the #1 ranked 240Z for all years on Cardomain.com Just had to post and felt the need to do my Happy Dance. It's actually kind of an honor when you consider there are 394 240Z's on the cardomain site, and "My Little Red Nightmare" has been ranked, by You guys, most likely. So I just want to Thank you and any others for voting for my 70' and your future votes to help keep me there. Maybe even a "Show Off of the week"??? Thanks again guys (and Gals) Dave. (DatsunDave07)

The reason I ask is it seams to come up quite a bit. People asking me "if my Z is a series 1" and what is the build date etc etc. As far as I know, Series 1 is a 1970 model year Z. But I've also heard that "series 1" is all 240Z's in general. My Z has an 8/70' build date and has the typical hatch vents and quarter panel "240Z" emblems. it IS a series 1 but my yellow 10/70' 240Z has the same vents and quarter panel emblems. So what is the TRUE definition of "Series 1"??? Thanks for your well though out answers and opinions, Dave.

Hey guys, well the problem that am facing (and I know there are many guys allover the world are facing the same problem) is: HOW can I ship those POR-15 and similar products overseas (by air since it is low weight/quantity order) , I have tried Fedex website, but it says it is a hazardous material. Would really appreciate your opinions and suggestions to get these products shipped! PS: I envy you guys, you have all Zcar resources in the US , international shipping is just a pain in the :stupid:
