Not sure if you guys have noticed, but for the last week or so, Kyosho 1/18 scale BRE 240Z models have started showing up on eBay. They are all being sold out of Hong Kong. The first ones last week were listed at $178 plus $36 shipping, but are now about $150 with $36 shipping. I have been waiting for these to come out since I saw the protype in person at the Brock's house over a year ago. I emailed Gayle to ask why they were on eBay, but not on the BRE site (bre2.net). She said they were having some US distribution issues, but hoped to have that worked out soon. I just heard back from her and she found a work around for the problems they were having. The models…

Thought I'd say hello Kinda have some depressing news as I'm considering selling my Z Car. Believe me this is something that I DO NOT want to do but I'm just kinda kicking the idea around because well times are tougher now because of this poor economy. I recently had to take a slight pay decrease which really cut into my Z hobby (Not complaining as I'm damn glad I still have my job) I'm a tech for an RV Dealer as some of you may know and the RV business is still obviously hurting right now. We still have 08 models sitting around which is costing the dealership I work at big time which as result they had to do layoffs and those of us up there in seniority got to stay but…

This is a non-Datsun specific question. My wife's 97 Nissan Altima needs a new exhaust from the manifold back. I think I've priced all the components from RockAuto at around $420 but from them I'd have to pay around $100 in shipping. Can anyone recommend a similarly cheap place to look (i.e. a chains tore) to get inexpensive aftermarket parts? Autozone looks like they have the parts for around $550. Thanks in advance.

I must say this 26 part anime is fantastic. Might be old news to some but i dont know how the people of intial d can make something so good and intial d sucks so bad as far as art. I have a full translated version of the series and even with my broken Japanese it is translated pretty good. the music the art the cgi its all fantastic. I will now seek out the original manga. I know there is a live movie in affect but it wont hold a candle to the anime i am sure. The orginal live action also well um....kinda sucked.

If your wife (or you ) likes to scrapbook, here's something you might like. Tonight, my wife found a rubber stamp store on the web that carries the #46 BRE 510, stock 510, and 240Z rubber stamps. 510 stamps http://www.stampingontheritz.com/modules/xoopsgallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=album15&page=2 Z stamp http://www.stampingontheritz.com/modules/xoopsgallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=album15&page=4

Hi Guys/Gals: In 1970 my first Datsun was a 240-Z that I paid full MSRP of $3526.00 plus shipping, rear window defroster and tinted glass. Oh yes, and the Dealer already had slotted mag.'s on it... But we'll stick to just the MSRP for now. What cost $3526.00 in 1970 dollars - would today cost $19,337.66 adjusted for general inflation effecting the U.S. Dollar. A BMW 2002Ti in 1975 had an MSRP of around $5K as I recall - adjusted for inflation that's $19,795.11 in 2008 dollars. I guess this story is a little bit about the tremendous advancements that have been made in the design, development and manufacturing of automobiles in the past 40 years. {gee has it been that long…

Been fabricating my A/C lines and found no off-the-shelf ones of the required length. So I got a tubing expander and am making braze-on tube couplers. It took me 4 "practice" tries with extra tubing to get good joints, but I still ruined 1-1/2 tubes to make two good ones. I found that the "special for aluminum" flux did'nt help at all, in fact, it made it harder. I learned that the key is to make certain the surfaces to be joined are super clean. I used electrical contact cleaner, after fully abrading the surfaces with a S. Steel brush, (not carbon steel). The hard aluminum/silver solder flows fine, but the parts have to be very hot, just to the point where th…

So far we have about 10 hours in it. One more session and it should be done. A good friend of mine owns Shenanigans tattoo shop in Auburn, AL. Its only about an hour and a half drive for me, and he is an amazingly talented artist. Its also really cool that he is a good friend of mine because it makes it that much more personal. This is a 280Z engine. He took cues from my engine, and several others that he found on the web. When it is done, it will look very realistic. It will look like there is an engine bay in my back, only the fenderwells will be muscle (you can see the beginnings of it in the pics). It is so dark here because only the black has been done. I wi…

I wanted to try something, could be fun. I've shared a Google map where we can all post our approximate locations. Don't worry about posting your exact address, be close, but don't feel you need to post your real address if you don't want to. The URL is: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=116791503026316859130.000465ae5d1eeaea6a54b To add a pin for yourself, click the Edit button as circled in the first picture, then the Pin button as shown in the second picture. The save and click Done. The results should be interesting.
