I just returned from the Walter Mitty Historic Races at Road Atlanta. It rained most of the weekend which always puts a damper on events like these. I should have pictures in a day or so. 240Zs showed out in force and I was really taken with how many Zs filled the club corral compared to the MGs, Triumphs, and Healeys as the event was Moss Motors sponsored. But we all know how British cars do in the rain! :classic: I met Mike Cammarata with his "Macau" 240Z. Check him out on IZCC http://www.zhome.com/Z history/Macau 240Z The car is very well prepared and he is still looking for that nose piece. He mentioned something peculiar about his Mikuni / Solex carburetors…

Now that its over, I can post the link, I dont think it was mentioned on here before. It started at $500 with no reserve. I emailed the owner right after it posted and he told me he would ship the parts to me if I didnt want the entire car. NOS hood, front fenders, cowl, hatch, grill, inspection covers. Also a weatherstripping kit and urethane bushings. I watched it all week, it was sitting at $560 the day it ended. I sat at my desk at work, 15 minutes to go, I log on and it was at $709.99..still, I thought, I am going to bid. I waited patiently, refreshed with 2 minutes to go, $900, one minute to go, $1100, I sadly let it go, it ends at $1280 with 4 seconds left. I was …

I'm in the process of finding out more about it (general condition of engine, paint, body) - but it looks pretty good for how old it is. The ad mentions the engine was replaced with the last owner. Do any of you guys have experience with these trucks? (Datsun 1600 lil' hustler) Any input?

The term “Cylinder Indexâ€ (CI) was coined by Joe Soucheray, a columnist for the St. Paul Pioneer Press and a radio talk-show host here in the Twin Cities. ( http://www.am1500.com/gl/index.shtml , check it out) He hosts a show called Garage Logic. Here is a quote from the Mayor of Garage Logic: Back to the CI. You calculate it by adding up all the cylinders of internal combustion engines that you have in your household. That includes cars and trucks and other fun rides that you don’t drive every day; original engines for those car/other rides, any other crate engine, other car/truck engines that you have the parts to build, motorcycles and ATVs, tractors, lawnmower…

Not my cup of tea, but looks like a killer example, if you're into them. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/976913529.html Ad text:

A few years ago I bought a nephew of mine the xmods R-34 car. Every now and then I would peek in Radio Shack (the only retailer here in the states, other than online of course) to see what was new. The other day I went into the store and found the Nissan GT-R sitting there, and it was on sale so... The cool thing about the xmods stuff is that you can upgrade them. I got the higher output motor (many pinion options included for more torque/less speed, etc.) and the headlight/taillight upgrade. There is also an upgrade for all wheel drive, but that one was not in stock... Anyway, the whole setup was about $70, and took about 45 minutes to assemble.

I came across this Motor Trend article about a museum in Japan with an interesting mix of items on display - classic cars, toys, dolls, and candy. Its called the "Yokota Museum Collection World" or the "Toy, Doll, and Car Museum". There are several very nice Nissans on display, and at least one Datsun. Here is the link to the article: http://www.motortrend.com/auto_news/112_0708_japans_secret_auto_museum/index.html You can follow the link in the article to the 60 images in the photo gallery, but their aren't any cars until picture #20 and the best cars start at picture #31 (in my opinion at least). Here is a link that goes right there: http://www.motortrend.com/auto_ne…

Princess Auto strikes again! Found these lurking on the shelf for the reduced price of $5.88 CDN plus tax. Nicely chromed metal housings, plastic lenses, rocker switch, wires, connectors, & mounting hardware included. I bought a set and swapped the lenses with a "made in Japan" glass amber set I had. They were a perfect fit. They won't fool the experts but are a reasonable substitute for the Nissan originals that are a bit hard to come by. If anyone wants a set forwarded to them, give me a shout.
