Heads up - it's on right now on the NG HD channel. Seems to be a comparison between the GTR and the 911 turbo.

I took my 71 down to Lakeland, Fl. for the Lake Mirror Classic. While driving home on I-4, I hit a 'turnpike gator' in the left lane at about 80. (turnpike gator refers to those thrown tire treads from the semis) It took out my fiberglass BRE-style spook; cracked it up pretty badly, and completely wiped out my left side Hella driving/fog lamp. Some paint chipped off the lower valence, but no real body damage. I suppose it could have been worse, but it still put a damper on a good day.

Can anyone direct me to a good source of 240Z emblem graphics or photographs? I am looking to make some resists (stencils) of Z-Car markings/emblems from which I can media blast the designs on to some different items. If anyone has some graphics or pictures they would like to offer up for the process, please do. What I have in mind is media blasting some designs on items such as a cam cover. I'll attach a photo of something I did a month or two ago. (I think it was posted before, so it may look familiar to some of you.) I am gearing up in the future to be able to produce just about any image, maybe even pictures, on metal (glass, etc.,....whatever, for that matter)…

I just got back from Cleveland. It was great to finally meet some of you and see more Z cars in one place than I have even seen in this part of the country. The weather was off and on rain, but the majority of the show was indoors, so it didn't cause too much grief. The drive home was wetter than I would have liked, but it was worth getting the Z wet. I'm sure there will be tons of pictures posted by others, so I hold off posting mine for now and fill in the blanks as needed. Thanks to the ZCCA and Cleveland Z club for hosting an event in the sparcely Z populated midwest (or North Coast as it's known to Ohioans).

Was in the San Diego area for the Miramar Air Show this weekend. On Sunday afternoon we saw a very clean, burgandy 240z on I-5. We were in my buddy's Honda Accord and it was moving a bit faster than traffic, so all we saw was the rear-quarter view. It cornered very well exiting the freeway... Was that anybody here? BTW, the air show was worth the trip. The Super Hornet demonstrations were performed with precision and the F-22 demo was amazing!

I just received a Magazine from a friend , that I have not seen before. There is a 10 page spread with pictures and a well written article accompanying it. The Magazine is Collectible Automobile , the Dec. '08 issue. I personally think that those of us with 240Zs should have a look. Much of the info. is info. we seen in the past. However this Magazine is one that the Collectors look to and has influence in the collectors arena. Classic Zcar Club as well as Zhome are mentioned at the end listing as Clubs for Datsun 240Z Enthusiasts. Gary

I don't know if this is a problem in other countries or not, but it has been a major annoyance here in Canada. Finally something has been done about it. The long-awaited national Do-Not-Call registry took effect yesterday. Canadians, tired of phone calls from telemarketers, can register. Companies that call after a phone number is registered face hefty fines. Canadians will be able to add their land line, cell or fax numbers on the national do-not-call list online at www.LNNTE-DNCL.gc.ca or by calling 1-866-580-DNCL (3625). For TTY service only (for the hearing impaired), the toll-free number will be 1-888-DNCL-TTY (1-888-362-5889). Now if we could only eliminate the unw…

Finally talked to the insurance adjuster yesterday and was told I could take the Z anywhere I wanted to get it fixed. Now I wouldnt mind taking it to a resto shop but #1 I've done all the work so far #2 Dont think there is one for 3 or 4 states around. #3 I'd probably end up finding the parts anyway unless they specialized in Z resto. So that said I guess my question is How can I fix it myself without getting the shaft from the insuance company for my labor. I don't mind working for nothing for myself, but certainly not for them. Any input appreciated. Best, H Houghton
