If you have any experience with compressor regulators I'm seeking your advice. Mine is going south on me slowly but surely - it is starting to stick open, not allowing me to regulate the pressure down once I have it at a higher output (without a bit of fritzing around with it a bit). My question is "Can it be fixed or should I simply replace it?" I've attached a picture so you will have an idea what I'm talking about. (I didn't buy it new and assume it's a Harbor Freight quality unit.) If it can be fixed, any advice on doing so? If replacement is in order, any advice on an economical unit? (The compressor builds up a head of about 175 lbs.) Your suggestions and o…

Finally got the chance to take my car to a track day at big Willow. It lives up to it's reputation of being a "fast track" Fourth and fifth gear the whole session with one short downshift into third up into turn 3. By pure luck, Phil Mendelovitz was there and was nice enough (and brave enough) to ride along with me one session providing me with some great instruction and the correct Z line. It would have taken me years to figure out what he showed me in 20 minutes!

Installed my differential this morning. However, during the process, it slipped off the floor jack that was supporting it and smashed down onto my middle ring finger. It hurt a bit, but the nitrile glove I was wearing wasn't torn and I could still move the finger so I knew it wasn't broken. I went on to muscle the differential in place without using the floor jack and completed the installation. During the process I noticed some blood leaking from the glove onto my wrist. It was almost done, so I went ahead and completd the job. Afterwards, I took the glove off and found a pretty nasty, (and deep), flesh wound on the underside, middle pad of the finger. So I cle…

Guys, we have to stop chasing off every female member that joins our club. I seem to remember about 4-5 female members that just don't come around anymore because we're too busy making stupid remarks or sending messages that could be considered offensive. I understand that automotive clubs are generally male dominated, but, would you really say the things in person that you say in these messages on a forum? If someone was right in front of you at a social gathering, would you really say these things? I don't want to make this sound out of proportion because there are some female members that don't have any objections. I just wanted to count on you guys to help out th…

...aka, not Zs or 510s, or Fairlady roadsters. I'm talking B210s, 710s, 610s, F10s... Those which were known as Sunnies, Cherries elsewhere... Possibly 410s, which I used to think looked dowdy as hell but grew on me when people kept saying they looked like Alfas. Nissan seems to have made the first "good" Japanese cars with the Z and the 510, but what is the regard of the models made alongside/before those? I suppose the combination of uniqueness and fuel economy allures, is there any engineering prowess to go along? As much as I'd love to have an old Skyline, Laurel or Cedric/Gloria, they're pretty much made of unobtainium here so The 610 is the one that piques my …

Ok, here's a good topic to discuss. I'm sure most of you have been watching the summer Olympics. What do you think? Of course most of us are aware of Michael Phelp's and his 8 gold medals. I've heard conversation that he might be the best Olympic athlete ever... Not sure if I agree with the "best ever" part, but, certainly the best in swimming. One of my favorites is Shawn Johnson. She's a great athlete and has a great attitude about what she's doing. http://www.nbcolympics.com/athletes/athlete=619/bio/index.html

I dont know if this has ever been done on here before, if so, I apologize. I searched and did not see anything and I have been wanting to ddo this for a couple weeks now. Modern classics? Looking at what the automotive industry has been churning out I look around and wonder, what cars will be "classics" or "collectibles" 20-30 years from now. With cookie cutter designs, etc, will there be such cars? I like the retro look of the Mustang but dont think they will have that appeal, with the exception of some of the hi output models. The new Challenger perhaps? I think the Honda S2000 might fit the bill, perhaps the Miata. I saw an original Toyota MR2 a couple weeks ago that…

Anybody else on here getting hit with this storm? I'm in Melbourne, south of the Space Center, and we have been hammered. We set a new rainfall record by tripling the old one! I can't even think about moving the Z out of the garage, since the water in the street would be over the roof. I might not be able to drive her for a month! It may take that long for the water to recede. Well, at least I have a day off. (at my expense) If you're in the E. Central Fla. area, stay dry!

I started a new blog that has Japanese lessons. Right now I only have speaking Japanese but will have lessons about reading and writing characters soon. I will also talk about Japanese Cars, News, Manga, Anime, Recipes, Movies, Current events, and other things I think of. I hope though my posts others can learn the Japanese language and culture which will help them appreciate their Zs a little more. It is also fun. I also will document the "refreshing" of my 1973 240z as well. So enjoy and feel free to comment on the posts. http://japanscape.blogspot.com/
