There was a very interesting item on a Current Affairs program tonight regarding the age of tyres. It appears many suppliers are still selling tyres that are 6 to 8 years old, which puts them past their SAFE use by date. Most tyre brands have a code which gives the tyre's date of manufacture shown on the tyre wall. Now, .. I don't know about the U.S of A but here in God's country, immediately following the word "DOT" appear some numbers. As an example, the tyres on my Prado has the number; 2704 which means that the tyre was made during week 27 in the year 2004. If the tyre has a number with only 3 numbers, (i.e. 309), it would have a manufactured date of week 30 in 1999…

Some of you remember me, most probably won't. This was my first forum I posted to regularly back in 2000 under the username "Timberwolf". Of course times change and I swapped names to go with the commonly accepted name I use only these days. Gone is the Z..well all of them in fact. I've had 4 Zs. Had to get rid of them thanks to the wonders of childbirth, but I miss them everyday...even after I replaced them eventually with an SVT Focus. The first 2 Zs were 280ZXs, but my '73 240Z was wonderful. It went through 3 starters one winter thanks to the SUs being rather stubborn, after that I decided to go fuel-injected so not to worry about that ever again. Pity. I built that …

Hi, I am looking for advice on where I might post an add for my 1972 240Z. I am looking to sell it. The engine had an antifreeze leak so the top needs to be rebuilt. I would like to sell it as is. I have owned it since 1981. The car spent all of its life in southern CA unitl 1997 when I moved to New Hampshire and it has been garaged ever since. The car is in excellent condition with no rust to speak of. It is white or egg shell and has had minor customization inside and out. If anyone knows of venues of where I might try to sell the car or if anyone has any interest within these forums please contact me and I would be glad to furnish pics and additional detail ab…

Doing some homework while perusing eBay, and in the back ground I hear "You're really gonna love this car man, mint condition" which catches my attention of course, and when I look up, what do I see but an orange 240/280Z stripped, vandalized, and sitting on blocks. It was a "nowwhat.com" commercial for State Farm Insurance. Nice little late-night find, thought I'd share it with y'all.

We had a small gathering of z cars today in Ft Collins. SSuspect(Tim), picked up 240zman(Daniel) and me along the way in his way up to Ft Collins. We met with kenz240z(Ken), Pop's Z(Mike), and boulderz(Dave-zdriver) in Ft collins. Ken, Mike and Dave have great z car examples, 2 240z and a 280z black pearl. I can only dream that I can be as meticulous with my cars. Unfortunatley the donor 280zx wasn't as described and had a very loud knock at idle and wasn't a good candidate for the swap into Tims' newly aquired 240z. If the others see this they will have a few pics for posting.

All I can hope is God has mercy on the owner of this car. What really blows my mind is how the bidding is up to $4500 ???? Basically one word describes it. "Shameful"
