Jerry, I got your e-mail about one of the items I have on the classifieds, but all attempts to reply to you bounce. You ISP doesn't seem to recognize you. Please send me different contact info. All I know is your first name, don't have a good e-mail address or a CZCC username. Thanks!

Hi All, Going to be working out the of the Abingdon Va airport the next few weeks. I'd love to know if there are any members in the area. Looks like with the weather, we are likely going to be sitting around quite a bit. Phil

Hi All, Just thinking here... I know scary thought. How much does the starting price of a auction effect the final outcome. If you start out the auction with too low a price it seems to have a hard time building up steam. Even if a guy is willing to pay alot for something he can't get there without competion from another bidder. I have had to deal with this on parts quite a bit. I have sold 1 car on Ebay but I watch auctions daily. I sold a roadster for a BIN of $7500. I started the auction at $3000 IIRC with a reserve of $6000 and the BIN of $7500. The car sold in about the 4th day of a 7 day auction. I believe a pretty good starting price is important to separate the t…

Just a question about the value of a complete set of authentic Minilite rims with centercaps. I know of a set that are available in good condition. Eight spoke--uncertain if they are early magnesium or the later aluminum alloy. They need cleaning up, but are indeed authentic Minilite rims with a casting of "England" and "Minilite" in the rim face. 14" X 5.5 or 6, 4 lug, and fitted to a 240z so they must be 114.5 c to c I've "googled" till I'm goggled and haven't found much about their worth, especially used. New are quite pricey. They are most often compared with Panasports, which appear to be less expensive but similar. I know they were used primarily on English sp…

We'll be leaving on Saturday, and be gone for a week. I just changed the plugs, filters, and a few other things that were recommended. My Z shop (Sunrise) did the brakes. I haven't taken the Z on a roadtrip in nearly 5 years. I'm pretty excited. The last time was to New Orleans and back. I'll share some pictures when we return. I thought some of you would be interested in our exact route. I'll tell ya if we see any UFO's by Area 51! hehe. Check out this link. Again, thanks to everyone for the mechanical advice. It really helped. Z-ya! Andy http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=12901639290065572154,36.063269,-116.752087%3B13838695603147431650,35.…

oh well here goes... I wanted a High Compression engine. I had an extra .070" shaved off a good head. This lowered the top cog too far, a new timing chain was still loose when guides were at max. I looked at removing some links but was too short. I ended up moving the chain guide up and over quite a bit, had to add new steel and new holes, took one day to complete. I decided to scan the new guide for a future handy reference tool. see att Cheers

Rented a small tow trailer and dropped my car off at Williams Auto Body this morning. Now comes the 8-10 week wait... Showed William the light rust area I found and he will contact me after they have stripped it down and can see it better. Next I have to finish getting the engine ready to take to Rebello in about 2 weeks.

I'd be in court already.

Has anyone here successfully sold a Z through e-bay? I'm trying to sell my '73 (long story, and yes if you recognize my handle, this is not the first time i have tried to sell it... it's hard to let go of), but having little luck on Craig's List, and the auto trader seems like a bad fit. I haven't posted it here (yet, this time) but I plan too as soon as the gas tank is finished (getting it cleaned and re-surfaced on the inside -- little bit of rust in the fuel filter and I really don't feel comfortable selling someone else a potential problem if I know about it). Anyway... was thinking of putting it up on e-bay but I've heard a lot of horror stories -- is it blown ou…

My Daily Driver (86 ZX) is out of commission for the moment due to transmission issues. I have a roadtrip planned for the end of this month that will tour the Southwest region of the US. Originally I was going to take the ZX for a couple reasons. Now I am contemplating taking the 78 Z for the trip. Roundtrip the drive will be about 2,000 miles. We plan to drive to Death Valley, the ET Highway, Vegas, Grand Canyon, and then Phoenix. The 78 has 299,900 miles on an unrebulit engine. However, the top end (head gasket) was done about 50K ago. The manual tranny was rebuilt around the same time. She runs fine. I only take her out once or twice a week. All I think I need are…

Delivered my engine to Rebello Racing this morning. Attached is a pic of the engine just before we loaded it up into my buddy's truck. Met Dave Rebello and he gave us a tour of the shop. Engine should be done in about 6 weeks. It will be bored-out to 2.8 L with a 280 crank and mild cam on an "almost" stock E88 head. According to Dave, it's sort of a mild ITS build and should put out about 200 HP with plenty of added torque. She won't be a powerhouse, but should maintain a smooth idle and have good drivability. Turn's out Rebello's is located about 1/8th mile from the house I grew-up in! We passed by the old house on the way. It's still painted the same col…
