This last summer I was interviewed by Car Crazy TV at the Motoring J Style car show in Northern California. I just got a call from Car Crazy TV and they will be airing the episode with my interview and my BRE replica on October 29th on Speed. Should be worth seeing. R

I am planning on relocating to Austin, TX around mid-December. I will need enclosed storage for two cars (1937 Packard 115C and 1973 Datsun 240Z). Anyone in the Austin area know of any safe and secure storage facilities in the Central Austin Area? Also, what is the Z-Car activity in this area? Thanks - John

I recently sold my '99 Honda XR650L (dual sport) and bought this '07 DRZ400s over the weekend. It arrived today and thought I'd show her off!

I just got a call from the police department in the next city and they found my Z! I have to go to the station, get a release form, then go to the tow yard and pick her up. I don't know what the interior looks like, but the guy said it wasn't stripped on the outside. I just hope they didn't mess up the engine any more than it was, because with even that small extra damage, I will have to sell the car, because there's no money to fix it. I'll post pictures when I get back if they damaged it, but hopefully it's fine.

Hey all you Southern California Z enthusiasts! Speed Ventures is hosting a Datsun/Nissan/Infiniti event at California Speedway Dec 1-2. Events include car show, auto cross course and road race course, (which includes part of the large banked oval track). Sure would be fun to have a great representation of "old school" Z's on hand. I am signed up for the road race event, green run group, on Sat the 1st. How cool would it be to get some shots of a good group of Z's on a banked oval track! Ron from O'side. Any thought of bringing your BRE replica 240 out? I saw it in Coronado at Lamar's booth. Would love to see (and hear) it run. Information at www.speedventures.com Ste…

When did the word "ESCAPE" become "ECKSCAPE"? (or exscape if you want to make any kind of effort to use the englick language). Same goes for "ASK" as opposed from "AXE" ... Just a semi-annual rant from an oldtimer...

My computer at home crashed! Can someone give me some guidance? When I start it up it gives me an error message saying that Windows did not start up properly. It gives me different options: Start up in Safe Mode, Start up using the last known configuration that worked, and start up normally. None of these options work, I did get a message saying that a file was missing or damaged: "<windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe" So I got my Windows XP disk and tried to reboot via disk. It then gave me two options, one I had to push "R" (sorry I can't remember what for) which eventually led me to a C:\ prompt. The second option was to reinstall Windows XP. It told me it had t…

Basically, what I need to know is does California have temporary titles for cars that I can get. I have having a little trouble with my title here in TN, so when I go out to CA I need to drive my Z around to track down the previous owner, and to go to government builds (DMV) but need a plate of some kind on the back so that it won't be illegal. Also need it there for my drive back to TN so that I can get it registered here. I have looked all over CA DMV site but can not find anything like this. I found one on the TN DMV site. I called them and they said that the car has to be located in TN for me to get one, but I still might be able to get one from here at least becau…

Ok, so over the years I've seen a lot of anime references, screen names, avatars, ect... so I figure its time to ask the big question: Who watches anime here? (Mike, I'm calling you out!!!!!!) Also what are you watching/favorite series & it'd be cool to know how old you anime fans are. so here it goes! I'm 20 years old & I'm really into sci-fi anime (usually mecha based) such as: Gundam Wing Martian Successor Nadesico Robotech Ghost in the Shell Cowboy Bebop Tenchi Muyo s.CRY.ed Neon Genesis Evangelion Trigun Samurai-ishness like: Rurouni Kenshin Samurai Champloo BLEACH (I'm going as Renji for halloween. haha) Beserk Claymore & car stuff like: eX-Driver (the mo…

I think that I have seen a bull guard on a Z before and it looked pretty cool. Then I started thinking that I might like one on my Z. It reminds of a Rally Z car, which I am really into and wouldn't mind having as a future project. Does anyone had any skills in Photoshop and has some spare time on their hands to take this bull guard http://www.ustruckaccessorieswhse.com/westin_ultimate_bull_bar.jpg and paste it onto a 240z? If it looks good on the Z, I might even put one on my current Z.

I was flipping through a magazine in school today for a project and came across a silver '77-78 280z in the backround of a Castrol oil ad along with other newer cars of today which made me go "there's my car"! I just got a real kick out of it as it being similar to mine and pretty random as you don't see these cars in ad's anymore! In any case, thought I'd share it with you guys. Here's a picture of the ad, I tried to zoom in as much as I could before it got overly blurry, but if you look to the right you'll see the top of it.
