Just a stupid question... My wife and I took the Z for a little Sunday drive this afternoon, and I noticed something unusual. Every time that I ran the car up to 7K RPM in 1st gear and then shifted HARD into 2nd, the rear tires squealed! Is that normal? I have never owned a car that would do that before... I had to do it twice, just to make sure it really happened. Thank goodness I am a safe and sedate 47 years old. I would hate to think what some young person might do with such a vehicle... Now where did I put that RADAR detector... :devious:

So I work till noon on Saturday, I leave my Z at the shop and take the pickup home to move a dresser. While I'm gone a kid in a Civic going 70 or so, goes out of control and skids through our parking lot and plows into our shop's S-10 Chevy. The crash knocks the S-10 within three feet of the front of the Z car. If the S-10 hadn't been parked there, the Honda would have smacked the Z almost head on. Sheesh. Chris

Last night my 73 Z was sitting on street in front of my house....it was broken into for the cheapo JVC stereo. The shitty part is that they damaged my passenger door lock to get in...which really sucks considering I KNOW I forgot to lock the driver's side door last night. A real moron for sure. I have never had any problems on my street in the past, and maybe this is just a freak one time thing. The good thing is that I left the removal tools that came with the stereo in the car, they did not damage anything removing which is good. It is easy to buy a new stereo but not so easy to buy the bezel. I will get a new unit and take the face off nightly from now on. Just …

I'm going to Tennessee the first week of October to celebrate my 21st by doing the Dragon's Tail in the Z. Has any one ever been? How was it? Where to stay? Anything else I should see? I'm really excited about this. I really need to get away from my life here in Indiana. I love Indiana but I need a break. I need to see something beautiful and get myself lost.

So more than 2 years after I break my heater valve doing donuts, I have secured a replacement from a donor car. I found this car last winter and today I drove 40min and spent 3 hours retreiving my prize. This car was last tagged in 1990 and I wouldn't be suprised if its been sitting out here since then. Luckily all the glass is there and doors were shut, so all things considered the inside wasn't TOO bad. I brought a blanket to lay down on while I worked anyway. So now I just gotta hope and prey its good and not leaky like mine. This same junkyard also houses the 280ZXT I got my wheels off of and will get the engine from at a later date. I'm just happy I've fianlly…

Here in the land down under we're a little ahead of you time wise. On the 11 Sept. The world REMEMBERS. There were about thirty Australians (I think) in the Towers that day. Just a drop in the bucket, numerically, to the number of Americans but it strengthens the bonds between us. My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones that day. We must NEVER forget. Rick.
