Hi all Due to a death in my family i have put off touching my 71 for a while. Trying to get back into it. The background: Literally found in a storage locker, not driven since 1987, California car. Body is okay, little rust. Working on the floorboards with Por-15 for more of a preventative. I am mired with too much to do with this car. Better to get it running and then work on the body or vice versa? Everything in the engine compartment is there, it is just daunting that all of the rubber, etc, is worn out. Every hose, etc. Considering subletting the reconstuction of the engine to an expert in the midwest and therefore not screw it up myself if anyone has any recommendati…

I know there are versions of the 510 that are SSS "prepped" but was there ever an outside organization known as Speed Shop Shinohara and if so, what was the extent of their contribution to Datsun "history"?

The Vatican came up with these commandments. The goal is to restore the virtue of the automobile as a way to go places, instead of a way to get yourself into trouble, or to bring trouble to others. I believe the goal of this club goes along with the idea. And then there are those people out there that seem to think that a car is a license to be an idiot, break any & every driving law, and even commit crimes in secret or even outright for their own gratification. I think everyone ( even CZCC people) could take a good look at themselves and see where they are lacking, and to revive the spiit of driving as a pastime or enjoyable event, and that we are all out ther…

Not my car, just FYI. Saw it on eBay and inquired about it....anyway, the seller tells me that the first $1600 takes the car. The car is about an hour, hour and a half from my location, but the reality is that it looks like more of a project than I might be interested in at the moment. What do you guys think? eBay Z

While I was at the bank this morning an XRAY yellow 70 Z pulled in. A rare sight in CT. It was in excellent condition, never restored origional owner. He has kept exactly as it came from the factory since new . Unfortunately he did not have much to say about the Z and said he has kind of lost intrest. But did say he has owned all types of cars and this one was his baby.

A guy I work with was driving about an hour north of Toronto when he passed a field and saw a Datsun and some other cars. He called me and I got him to investigate further. He spoke to a guy working there, the owner wasnt around (a farm I think?), but he looked at the car and took some pics. He was told the interior is in great shape, but its stored away. The car doesnt come with a motor, although there was a Toyota Supra motor currently in the car. The guy there said the owner wanted $3,500.00 for it! I was thinking I might be able to buy the whole parts car for the dash alone, maybe get some seats and a better passenger door....but thats an outrageous price. Im sure o…

So yesterday I was with my wife in Gent, Belgium for a large 10 day long (day 4) festival to enjoy the evening and get some dinner when we saw a market. As we walked around a red, white and blue car caught my eye. It was a 240z BRE racer with John Morton's name on the side of it. It was failry large, about 10 inches, but the dealer wanted 22.50 euros (about 30USD) and it was to much for me. Plus it wasn't in the best of shape. But I did snap a photo so I could share the car with the everyone. I hope it wasn't a very rare car, but I am sure people here know more than I about these things.
