Happy father's day to all that happen to have that title. I hope your day was as enjoyable as mine. My son, he's 25, is home on break from Baghdad and he spent the day with me striping my '78 280Z. We managed to remove the: steering wheel and dash seats, seat belts and carpet windshield and rear hatch and side windows drain and drop the fuel tank remove both doors What a day, it was great. Down side was on inspection, the passengers side floorboard will need replacing due to rust but that's to be expected. I hope you all had as much fun as I did today.

So I recently got an offer to trade my 280Z for a 1977 Corvette. The idea of owning a Corvette at the age of 20 seems really appealing to me, and the car is in pretty good shape. Its orange with black leather interior and the seats look new. Its an auto, but its also got a 350 under the hood (though its about the weakest 350 ever.) I really don't know what to do. I love my Z, but this car is really tempting. I really want something thats faster. I have been looking into doing a L28ET swap into my car, but that seems like a lot of work. Having a V8 to start with seems like a better place to start from. I'm really struggling here with this because I love the looks …

I got to drive my 280 for the first time today. The new alternator ive been waiting for finally arrived in time for my birthday so i had to take it out for a spin. Man what an experience! Its defiantly a lot more work to drive than my '99 Jimmy. Now i just need to get better with driving stick!

well, it finally happened. yesterday i drive into town, (7 miles) bright hot muggy sunny day. as i approach outskirts i notice kinda dark clouds in the northeast. park, go into timmy's, when i get out it's pouring down. first time caught in a downpore. drive through the rain and get a couple miles from home and the roads are dry as a bone. not even a spit of rain and sunny as all get out. i thought i'd be traumatized but it wasn't too bad, i think i'm over it now.

I am not trying to further arc up a situation here but I think we are all interested in subscribing to clarity and substantiation in discussing and defining matters of Datsun history. Not that I am a model for same but I do try. I have been reading the thread on Kats’ cars http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=25575&page=4 and noted the digression into the realm of the number of Datsun dealerships that existed in various countries in , or at the end of 1970. Some snips from the quotes from these posts are listed below but these extracts do not fully convey the context of all that was said. Quote: Originally Posted by Carl Beck In 1969/70 ther…

I don't know if anyone has seen the Practical Classics May 2007 Issue. The last thing I did before leaving Italy for home was pick up a copy of this UK magazine at Leonardo DaVinci Airport near Rome. It caught my eye among all the Porche, etc. magazines because it had a photo of a 240Z at the top of the front cover with a "Datsun 240Z Buyers Guide" advertised as being inside. Well, I bought it and read about all sorts of interesting restoration projects with several Brit cars I've never heard of. I was saving the 240Z story for last as it was a 10+ hour flight back to the States. Guess what - the start of the 240Z article is missing. So it starts somewhere in the middle. …
