Driving along the other day, I noticed a familiar shape off the side of the road in the lot area of a shop. There were several other vehicles by it, and I felt the need to turn around and drive down to ask some questions. What I found is now just the remnants of a shell, the roof is great (headliner too), the hood is very good (but not perfect), the rear quarters seem workable (surface rust), but most everything else is gone. It still has all four hubcaps (only one Z centercap is missing), and the owner is willing to sell it for whatever anyone may offer (that's the impression I got, anyway). The engine and tranny have been pulled and installed in a 240 racer (sorry, …

Did you notice that on every TV show involving cars, like Pinks, Bull Run, etc. always have cars that are "professionally built," yet break down n half way to the end? My car club (ZACO) has been from Cleveland, to Dallas, Miami, Syracuse ( all the national Z car shows) with the stock 240s for a number of years, yet has never had a car break down! On bull run, the Lambo ( a very expensive car?) has had clutch problems the whole time. They need a stock Focus or maybe even a Hyundai to run these challenges and probably win, and use the extra gas money they saved to celebrate. :squareeye

I am contemplating a run down I-5 from Portland Ore to the Riverside Calif. area in May. If this comes off , I will be solo . This would be the longest run so far in my Z . What I am wondering is who in the club lives along the way , with in about 50 miles or so or I-5. Just in case the old girl has a hiccup, I would like to know if I have a fail safe place to tow too. My Hagerty Ins. will cover 100 miles on a flat bed. I can then figure out what is what and go from there . I do have access to a flat bed trailer if needed . A big hassle but if necessary this is what I would do and abort and bring her home. I really don't anticipate any trouble since I have gone thr…

This seller needs to look in the dictionary to find the true meaning of the words "original" and "survivor." Also, it seems that many ebay sellers don't bother to spellcheck their pages-why is that? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-280-Z-2-2-RUST-FREE-All-ORIGINAL-SURVIVOR_W0QQitemZ220094305630QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It's got a BIN of $7500, and I think it looks nice, but not original.

How old were you when you got your first Z car? I got mine at 17, and I almost cried because I was so happy.

I recieved a PM today from the editor of Nissan Sport Mag, saying that my Z has graced page 80 in the winter 2007 issue of Nissan Sport Mag, but I never remember being told that my entry made it into the magazine. If anyone has this issue, can they please post a pic/scan of page 80, so that I may verify my excitement?

For those that don't remember 76Datsun280z's post a while back ago about "Interesting excuse for selling, 280z on Ebay" which we got a laugh out of then here is the link http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24572&highlight=280Z+ebay Well I was surfing around ebay tonight just for fun and laughed when I came across it again. Now some dealer named "Kicks Auto Sales" is trying to sell it. I guess ebay seller crashpoet10139 must have thrown in the towel At least the dealer washed it I can't decide which ad is more funny? The old seller or new seller. The dealer selling it now says " Look at the solid, original green trunk" This is great. I needed a l…
