Asking for a friend I might help. He has a broken quarter window on a 200something Explorer. He has a replacement window, but it doesn't have the "channel" with the studs, its just glass. Are you supposed to reuse the old one, and how would you get it onto the glass? Link to one that does have the "channel": https://www.ebay.com/itm/95-01-Ford-Explorer-Sport-Trac-Rear-Quarter-Vent-Window-Glass-RH-Pass-w-Hinge/283490023391?fits=Model%3AExplorer|Make%3AFord&hash=item42015277df:g:AwQAAOSw1aRc4XSC Thanks

Yokohama added a Fleva line to their Advan series in the US this spring. While it's not the ultimate performance tire, it's promoted as a design with good handling characteristics and low noise. Nothing smaller than 15" though. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=ADVAN+Fleva+V701

If you want a bit of a hardy-har-har to take the edge off of the day, check out this comic strip. https://www.gocomics.com/that-is-priceless Something a little different, but it certainly tickles my funny bone just the right way. Perhaps some of you will also appreciate this style. A bit of a sampler, as they say...

My wife is reading a book The Blind Mechanic by Marilyn Davidson-Elliott (Nimbus Publishing) about a local celebrity who I never knew of: Eric Davidson. He was blinded in the Halifax Explosion at age 2 then went on to follow his love for cars. He was a master mechanic and could diagnose many cars by his attuned hearing. Here is a brief video of him:

Hi All, I'm saying hello from rainy England, and hoping to tap into this forum as a great resource of information and people. I'll start by saying that I don't own a Z car and never have although its been my dream classic for quite some time now. Ever since I saw the below linked video on Petrolicious (a couple of years ago now) I decided that I had to have a 240Z. I'm heavily into my MR2's with a 1996 gen3 JDM Turbo model which I've spent the last couple of years transforming my car from stock into a fast road car, and have loved every moment of it (most of the time :-D). This car continues to be used on a daily basis however I've been wanting to get into the c…

Just welcomed my 4th 240Z home tonight. I love these cars. This one is a bit more polished than I'm use but I'll get over it. The thing that sets this car apart from my previous 240s is the rich history and the meticulous records. Purchased in Japan by a service man with original purchase receipts (to include DOD loan papers), hand written service documentation (outstanding penmanship) and various vintage Datsun swag(local and national Z clubs). That along with a dash void of blemish, a recent total rebuilt drivetrain(matching numbers) and the original owners widow(whom was also active in Z clubs) has me instilled in me - a sense of responsibility... to act as a steward.…

A precautionary rant: I've been a proponent of lifetime-warranted AutoZone parts, provided they are easy enough to change out. The alternator in my '78 280 is a good example. The swap is fast. I'm on my 3rd AZ alternator now, but it was cheap and easy. I'm really starting to question the wisdom of this plan, though. My Saturn's radiator tank cracked, so I got an AZ lifetime warranted radiator. After changing out the radiator (very cheaply constructed in China), I was STILL losing fluid at about the same rate, but I never could find a leak in the driveway. It turns out the radiator had a drain plug whose threading was slightly too small for the threading in the drain…
