Hi guys! Need a little help. I came across these carbs that this guy is selling to me. They are triple side drafts SOLEX Carbs with the horns.( sorry I don't really know the real name for it but I'm hoping you guys do! ) I know the Webers are the weapon of choice but since this kind of offer doesn't come often I wanted to take a chance in these carbs. They are still brand new and not a single drop of gasoline has come through them. They also come with the manifolds. Can you guys give me anything on this matter? How much of a difference will there be if I exchange them for the SU's? Thanks! Ez

O.K. I am not tring to start a disscusion on global warming or anything so please do not respond in that way. But, it is 45 degrese here in Missoula Montana today (way above normal), and has been warm for the last 2 weeks. So now the snow has melted and the streets are dry and the Z has the insurance reinstated. I took it out of storage today 2 months early and had a blast. It took a while to get the motor and tires warm but when it all fell in place I got a smile on my face of unusual proportions. I am sure it will get cold again and snow more but I think our usual snow pac and ice cloged streets for 3+ months is not going to happen this year like it has not in the past …

I'm thinking that this year for my girlfriend's birthday that I will take her to Paramount's Great America for the weekend. I'm doing some research, and I've already found good rates for hotels, such as the Best Western for $51 a night, but I'm having trouble finding prices for the park itself. Does anyone have any ideas how much it costs to visit the park? We'd be going on April 14th and 15th, if that helps any. I have been told that Safeway and Blockbuster usually sells discount tickets for the park, and I have also heard that Great America has a 2 for 1 deal if you buy the tickets at the gate. Thanks for the help!

Residents of L.A. will be honoured with a visit next week by a group of Australians promoting Australia as a tourist destination. The entertainment includes an award winning group of Aboriginal dancers. So, anyone who thinks they could expect to see kangaroos bounding down George Street in Sydney, being chased by Aborigines chucking spears and boomerangs, should attend the show to get a more up to date idea of what God's country is REALLY like. I'm sure Mike, (site admin), would go if it was at all possible. I understand he likes it here. (But he's only seen Melbourne, poor bloke). Rick. :devious: :devious:

What is THE colour for the DATSUN 240z? I mean if you ask anyone out there that knows what a 240z is and you asked him what colour reminds you of the Z! Debate folks! Give your answer and elaborate! After all has been said, I'll try to count the colors and the majority or the winner will be chosen "colour of the Z"!

Rooting around in the attic the other day, and ran across this bag. This 'Challenge' series is actually the genesis of the SCCA Showroom Stock Sedan series. The editors of Car and Driver challenged the readers to compete with them using basically 'stock' vehicles. Great fun and some interesting racing.

I Fitted My Computer system to a my car mid Dec 2005. Have been tuning up my engine for some time now. See Attachments, timing curve as of 3/1/2006 Did a run last week approx 330 Km and used approx 18 L to 23 L of fuel, keeping to the speed limits (110 Km/h) in overdrive and mostly the roads where flat, thats somewhere in the range of 40 to 50 Mpg. I couldn't fill the tank again so its a rough guess, the gauge was just under the 3/4 mark when we got back, its a 55 L tank. another test (overloaded). While towing a car trailer with car, i was able to get 12.4 Mpg, Thats pretty low out of a 4 cylinder engine.

I think this was discussed several years ago, it just happened to me, so I'd like to bring it up again. Over the years, I bought enough polishing gear and supplies to learn that it is terrible laborious and nasty job. So, when a nicely polished L-16 valve cover came up on Ebay, I bought it, even though I have 2 good ones to polish. When it was delivered, I was happy to note that it was a wonderful job, a very highly polished valve cover with no dents, holes or imperfections. It was as good of a job as I could ever do, if I started with a near perfect cover. Turning it over. I saw what they had done. They had abrasive blasted the piece first and the interior was full of bl…
