A few days ago I got back from a business trip to Japan. Whilst there I attended the 2005 NISMO FESTIVAL at the recently refurbished Fuji International Speedway, which took place on Sunday 4th December. I was lucky enough to be invited to be a member of the pit crew of 'NP35' - headed by my friend Matsui san, and we were looking after two customer cars. One was the Fairlady 240ZR replica of Mr Terashima, and the other was the KPGC10 Skyline GT-R of our friend Dr Shimizu - which was making its first ever runs after being completely rebuilt by Matsui san. This car had not turned a wheel under its own power in over 20 years..... Set-up and practice on Saturday afternoon e…

I've just posted on the Aussie forum info that may also be of interest to others. The Queensland State Library has opened it's archives on rare car manuals. I haven't checked it out yet, I thought it best to report to members first, but anyone interested can log onto; www.slq.qld.gov.au/garage They allow on line searches of restoration and maintenance manuals for pre 1970 models, official repair manuals, service station manuals and a collection of more than 500 historical images. While driving to work sunday afternoon i noticed the clouds where getting darker. Well i didnt think much of it at the time. Well after i got to work and started my nightly work as usaul. I work in the back and cant really see outside, But i got to noticing that we were really slow for a Sunday. A coworker and I went to take the trash out around 7:30 or 8:00 oclock and thats when it started getting bad. It was basically just heavy rain and small hail for about a 1 1/2 hrs. Then a costomer came through the drivethrew, but his truck broke down at the speaker. (damn what kinda luck is that?) I went and helped him push it out of the way and right as soon as we got it in …

They say dogs age 7 'dog years' for every solar year. So when a dog reaches 14 people years, it's 98. HOw would you think that cars age? I figure it 1 'year' for every 1000 miles. That would mean cars generally outlast people (many cars get over 100,000 miles which would be 100 people years) Mine has 110k miles, and it's still quick and agile, although the 'ticker' (engine) could use a little help.

I'm thinking of getting one for miscellaneous purposes, including street maps while driving around the state or U.S. I've been reading some, but they usually just give you product specs and you don't get educated on what you want to buy. I (think) I'd like one with a big screen ( to view maps), GPS capability (either direct or bluetooth- depends on map software), and an operating system to do most other ordinary stuff like phonebook, notes, voice recording, MP3s, maybe a camera & USB port for digital camera and file xfer. Not sure about a color screen, but it would be nice for the camera... I'm technical, but does anybody know enough to put it into easier tech? I'l…

There's an interesting ebay Motors listing (Item number: 4589412554). It will be even more interesting to see where it ends up... More power to him if he gets his "Buy It Now Price". I honestly wish these cars brought that kind of money. Perhaps some day. I hope in my lifetime. Comparing this to mine ...still in the build stage...I could be asking $25,000.00...ahh well $23,000.00 :nervous: . After all the flap about Burt the Cardogman and his "Lowest mileage in the world Z" ..... I found the "One of a kind Show Car" even more interesting. I have found ebay in general to have driven market prices down on many items and catergories. It has also in some cases emboldened som…

I'm fairly new to this site, but have been over on Hybrid for a while now, but thought I'd post this question here, if its appropriate. If its not, I apologize and will remove it as soon as a Mod tells me to do so. I'm restoring (resto-modding.. whatever its called) my Fairlady and wont be re-using the L20, opting to go with an L28ET instead. This leaves my L20 doing nothing but sitting in my garage taking up space and as a result I'm considering selling the motor. I see no reason to sit on it when someone else out there restoring a Fairlady or the like could put the motor to good use. My problem is value, and thats the reason for this post. I havent been able to find o…

Just yesterday a cop showed up at my door. Because of the city ordinences, I have to get rid of my 83 datsun 280zx project car. I have to get rid of the car in the next 10 days. Because my car isn't running at the moment. I think that the cops and the city leaders are suck asses. Do you have to go through this were you live???? Tell me what you think

I was looking thru the Seattle & Spokane, Wash. Craigs Lists for something to do the other day during the Classic ZCar blackout and spotted these items for sale -- cheap or for free and thought I'd share: http://seattle.craigslist.org/car/114900302.html http://seattle.craigslist.org/car/114652919.html http://seattle.craigslist.org/car/112921248.html http://spokane.craigslist.org/zip/115137384.html

Don't get me wrong, I love the Zcar. There is always going to be a place in my heart for them and I plan to buy another in the future, but I do have interests in other cars. I have been reading a lot of car mags Lately and it has sparked my interest about many cars. Not all of them are that similar either. I was just curious what cars you guys are interested in or own. Here are some of my fav classic and new cars just to name a few: I love the idea of a four wheeled motorcycle, so the Lotus( or Caterham) super 7 it is. The Jaguar XKE is the most popular of the Jags, but I fancy the Xk120. Hey I even sound like one. HehHEhehe. The Bentley's of the late 20's and…
