This past Sunday, five roadsters met for a ride to see the annual bloom of California poppies on the rolling hills, outside of Palmdale. Poppy run line-up We were apprehensive at first, as it was heavily overcast and drizzly. The record breaking storms of this season had washed out most of the exciting mountain roads, so, our ambitious plans for twisty roads were thwarted by "Road Closed" signs. Overcast drive No sooner than we topped the mountains, we found the sun. The mountain ridge was holding the foul weather in the L.A. Basin, making it a beautiful springtime day in the high desert. A break in the fog During our picnic lunch in the poppy reserve, we were visited b…

I had a great “CAR DAY" yesterday. :knockedou I went to a day of training after being reinstated on the Track Rescue Crew for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I worked on the crews for ten years and took a three year break. I am looking forward to all three of this years events especially the F1 race. I have worked both the Indy 500 as well as the Brickyard 400 many times but never the F1 race. I don’t know what the new rules are for my taking of photos but I will try to post some detailed photos of the cars from all three events as the year progresses. :classic: JLP

Well, about 6 more weeks until the West Coast Nationals @ MSA. Hoping for excellent weather of course....(raining = me no go)!!! As I mentioned weeks ago, I"m not entering my 240 in the show this year, just a spectator this years. This way I hope to meet more of you folks in person! Of course I will be driving my Z to the show...I mean, how could I not!? Anyway, I plan to wear a name tag with both my real name and website call names displayed for easy recognition. I'll be attending on Sunday, for the car show only, and hope to meet some of you there! See ya then! Who's all going?

Hi all, Please hear my plea for guidance for I have sinned. I have tasted the fruit of of higher horsepower and lusted after that which is new and non-z. I'm ashamed to admit that my eyes and heart have gazed longingly upon the creation of Dodge. Yea, she is known as the SRT-4 (though she be "only a Neon", she's one fast hot-handling Neon) and she has stirred feelings in me that I knew not I possesd. I know the faithful, will look down on me with scorn and cry "Tis' only a Neon!", "She looks of rice and and posses not the classic lines of beauty.", "Will she still stir thy loins a decade from now?", etc, etc..... Dear brothers and sisters, it is yet worse than I hav…

Ok I just got done doing a brake booster last week and its a toss up between the top nut on the inside of the car on the right which only will let you turn it 1/4 to 1/8 a turn at a time :tapemouth or the damn passenger side bumper bolt next to the tank which has similar qualities. Anybody have any other favorites?

Hello there. My name is Richard. I am in Rio Linda, California. I have some assorted 240Zparts that I am going to JUNK this monday 2-28-2004. If you come and get em you can have em. Parts I have, Fairlady interior luggage brace chrome still nice, set of mags (finned) with spare, 240Z gas tank, gas caps, half-shafts, doors (missing panels otherwise complete, seats (later folding style, still in useable condition) various hardware, dash complete, steering column mostly complete, a/c parts, various interior parts.... unknown what else. I am stack…

First. Karting, indoor our outdoor, is great fun, and I believe represents the best racing bang for the buck! I definitely feel, at certain parts of the track, like I'm going about as fast as I want to go. I'd also recommend Johann Schwartz' Endurance Karting. http://www.endurancekarting.com/ I participated in a 6-hour race last spring and it was an absolute blast! Johann keeps things fun, yet fairly safe, had brand new equipment last year, plenty of rental gear (helmets, suits, etc). Second. The waiver. It may or may not be worth the paper it's printed on. But liability is not my biggest concern. I have raced only with SCCA, and when you sign their waiver, in exchange fo…

Hi I was not sure where to place this post, because of its potential applications I came across this product on a lotus site. http://www.unibrain.org/gallery/casting?page=1 It would be really handy to be able to duplicate minor plastic pieces that are impossible to get. You could even use the metalic resins to replicate rare badges and trim pieces, like the paintless z quarter emblems. http://www.alumilite.com/ Anyway thought somone else might find it handy. Ahmed

Hello all. I'm not sure where to turn.... So I'm asking you all a question about a '77 Datsun 810 wagon. I came here because in my search for answers I found that you all occasionally talk about these cars because of their "Z" motors. Well, here's the question..... I've been given the choice to 'remove' / have for free just to get it out of their yard a 1977 Datsun 810 wagon. I was told it was originally bought for the 'Z' engine but the son has since pasted on. The car is real rough but it's got everything including an extra intake and carbs (dual carbs), 4spd and today the family even believe it still runs. Question, is it worth my while removing this car and…

Just curious, during this time of war what gas is going for in your neigborhood? Here in western New York it's $1.75 a gallon of 87 octane.
