I don't know how many of our members have a Zed with an auto tranny, but my 30 year old Zed still has the auto tranny it rolled off the assembly line with and in one specific respect, it is far superior to that of my 2004 model Ford Falcon Fairmont which is also fitted with an auto box. Even when travelling down hill, if I lift my foot off the accelerator, the Zed will immediately begin to slow down under engine compression. Not so with my new Ford, it goes faster. Surely engine compression assisted braking is a safety issue. Any comments ???? Rick.

Ok folks here is my take on recent ClassicZcar.com interactions. Damn good group of folks here. So last weekend there was some heated discussions, taunts, threats, slamin and bamin. Now all is well, people can't wait to help, all is forgiven, and this site (my favorite on the whole WWW) is going to get even better. I made some comments on the weekends infamous thread about this being a COMMUNITY of Z lovers. Time has proven that to be correct I believe. Mike made a comment about this not being a place to voice opinions. Maybe even Mike might have to reconsider when the opions relate to how WE ALL want this site to be. Mike also said that this place is a living, breath…

Found this while randomly searching around... there are some great Japanese websites around. Pity (for me) they're in Japanese! Anyway, thought some might be interested to see what happens when you leave a Cedric alone for 15 years. http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~zu3h-sonm/haikyo/haisya1.htm Click on the link at the bottom of the page to see more. Hmm! Also found this link which has brochure covers for a lot of Datsuns (mainly the bluebird - I was thinking of you Chris (ZKid)) http://www.modum.net/datsun/gamle_datsuner.htm Anybody else find any cool links recently and would like to share?

What ya think? 73 240, Calif car transported to Indiana 25 years ago, lots of mods, no rust, but needs some minor interior/exterior work to be back on the road. The car has been in storage for years and I got it out last year and started working at getting it back on the road but have lost interest, would rather have a Harley I guess Anyway looking at prices and buyers I'm wondering if I couldn't realize a higher return parting the car out than selling it together simply because most buyers are looking for either a V8 swap car and don't want to pay for tripple webbers or are looking for a car to restore and don't want to replace the aftermarket parts I've installed, in ei…

All right, I have gotten my hands on a 1983 280ZXT I am going to do some horse trading with. The body has its problems, but according to the previous owner the motor is in good operating condition with new injectors, only it is minus the clapped out turbo. I am in a quandry as putting a turbo in my Z sounds like a great idea, especially since my Series I car doesn't have its original L24 anyway. However, the wiring, etc. sounds more complicated than I might want to tackle, and I'd sure hate to see my 70-71 Roundtop carbs and E31 head not be used in my final rebuild. So, what I'd like to know is do you think it would make sense to keep the T5 tranny (to replace the 5 s…

Well, I finally moved to Texas. Living in the city of Coppell. My Z made it in one piece. Any 240Z owners close by??? I have yet to see one on the road here, other than mine.

I had an item listed in eBay (set of rain gutter/drip rail trim for 240Z). It was listed last Friday and showed on the listing and in My eBay up intill today when it misteriously disappeared. I did a search for the item and there was absolutely no record of it anywhere. It received a minimum bid. I contacted eBay and got the standard canned response that did not address the problem. Maybe because I asked for a refund of my listing fees. Anyone ever experience this before? If you are interested in buying these things, pm me. There are in very good shape.
