Hopefully someone can help me out here. I recently convinced my brother to pick up a set of Watanabe RS-8 rims despite the fact that neither of us have an appropriate car to use them on, for the simple fact that they were too cheap to pass up. Upon picking them up from the freight depot today I gave them a bit of a clean and noticed that.. on the top, it has the three birds inside the circle with "racing" cast in it, yet on the underside or inside of the rim, it has 'RS-Eight' , 'Made In Japan' & 'Speed Star' cast into it, there are also stickers on the inside of the rim itself stating it's a Speed Star Wheel. I went to the speedstar website but it has nothing in r…

Okay. so yesterday at lunch I decided to go look at a Z car that's been sitting in a field. It was a metallic blue 76 280Z. Looks pretty good. Alloy wheels, custom lower rocker ground effects. Custom spoiler. White interior (never seen that before), double sunroof. Car hadnt been licensed since 96. Door was open so I looked around inside. Dash has couple cracks, console was so-so. Opened hood, motor was clean. Looked like a four speed. So I leave a note at the house and today the guy calls me. Says he put $4500 in fiberglass bodywork into in 96. Front fenders, entire rear wheel arches and area around fuel door are glass. Says it runs good then three sentenc…

By Martin Wolk MSNBC It was only a few years ago that Korea’s Hyundai was considered a second-tier auto brand, inferior in quality to better-made Japanese and American models. advertisement Those days are rapidly fading into history, according to a survey that ranks Hyundais with Toyotas and Hondas as the most reliable cars sold in America. Hyundai rose from No. 10 last year to tie for second place with Honda, slightly behind perennial No. 1 Toyota, according to the J.D. Power and Associates survey. The three companies easily outranked No. 4 BMW and No. 5 General Motors in the study, which measured problems reported in the first 90 days of ownership for 2004 models. Ju…

Each year we attend the MSA show, registered participants get a goodie bag full of stuff. This year we got a copy of a book titled TURN AROUND. It's all about how Nissan was save from sure death......a slow and painful death!!! Does anyone care to share their thoughts on this really good read book? All I can say is..................WOW! Wish we had someone like Carlos running the organization I work for!!! What do ya all think?

I keep coming here to re-visit the show and there is nearly nothing!!! In past years there have been pages within HOURS. A whole day later and we have a half-dozen of Vic's pix. Where--by the way--I learned Whitaker was there and never came and siad hi. Maybe he didn't recognize my new car! I almost won Worst Paint Job. Next year I am wearing a bikini. Speaking of MIA, where was EricB and Jerry (gozracergo)???? Frank13 tracked me down somehow... Did anyone here glean some treasures from my trailer of EVERYTHING FREE?!?! If you did, thanks a million! Should have brought three times that much! Oh, and Vic, I am saving all my aluminum for you. Grist for the mil…

Here in California every year there is a non-competitive vintage rally that starts at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. The rules are that the car be of 1957 year model or older. Most of the cars were European, but there were some American too. I thought that many of you might find this interesting even though there are no Z's. I hope it is anyway. Here are the pics. I will post more later. By the way, these are some of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. Take care, Ben:classic:
