I am A certified Nissan Nut. I have owned 3- 510's 2-260z's, 2 -620's would love to do a rb26 twin turbo drop in a Z right now I own a 67.5 Roadster which will be upgraded to a U20 Street race motor W/ Mikuni 44's. I like the Vintage Power.. Hope to hit about 200 to 220 Hp. What are wildest meanest Power upgrades you wanna do or in the process of doing. Or maybe you are dreaming of doing ? Hi all, As you may recall I recently had the automatic transmission in my '72 240Z swapped out with a 5-speed unit from a 77 280Z. I am absolutely delighted with the swap. After the work was done and I got the car back a few minor issues had to be addressed ( instument lights couldn't be turned on without blowing a fuse, choke light no longer worked, etc.). My mechanic took the car back and fixed them free of charge (which he should since these items worked prior to him working on the car.). This morning I went out to do a tune-up on the car. So I put the car on ramps to change the oil first. While underneath the car, I noticed that I can clearly see my freshly ins…

Well what an interesting day I had. I got to test drive a 350Z with a 6 speed trany, and let me tell you its a nice car, but... my 1972 240Z "feels" faster. I don't know if my L24 engine is getting more torque or what but my Z deffinatly feels faster. Now i'm not saying my Z is faster, just that it "felt" faster. Am I crazy? Has anyone else had this experiance? Just incase you were wondering I'm run a stock L24 block with an E-88 head (rebuilt, steel seats, 3 angle valve job, the works) Motorsport header with a 2 1/2 inch exaust pipe into a dynomax muffler, SU carbs, and an 82 zx electronic ignition. I've often thought my 300 tt really flies, well some guy in Melbourne last night proved me right! If your in Oz checkout the news tonight, a black 300zx travelling at what police estimate at over 200 kph launched its self off a fence, through the wall of a 8m high industrial shed and landed some 80m from its take off point! When police arrived they found the driver walking around the factory in the dark trying to find the exit. :classic:

I'm interested in hearing some new ideas for getting the money to pay for your Z-car project(s). Maybe you get a car loan or money from mom or dad, or your Aunt Mannie? Are you fortunate enough to have a JOB, or are you filthy rich and can afford anything you want? You know those kids driving rice-- how doees a teen get $20,000 for custom engine, bodywork and Paint job?
