A small tribute to my girlfriend! She's always there for me and has always supported my love of Z's. I spend alot of time at work and commuting and she never complains when I work on my car. She listens to endless ramblings about Z-car wiring harnesses, tools and supplies... with a smile and not a frown. She calls me (when I can take calls ) or sends me messages to tell me she's seen a nice Z I would like. And on top of all that... she loves me for who I am. Since it is the holiday season, I firmly believe that the greates gift of all (for me) isn't going to be chrome plated, powder coated, re-upholstered, or freshly painted. It's my girlfriend Sylvia (), whom a car…

Does anyone know why Martini and Datsun both have the same logo? I first noticed this when watching Rally racing, since Martini sponsers some drivers and it recently caught my attention at work. I work at a restaurant, and the Martini bottle caught my eye since it had almost the same logo as my jacket. Is Martini a Japanese company(hence the red dot like the flag), or is it just a coincidence? Here is the Martini logo. Here is the Datsun logo on my jacket.

I've been interested in Z cars for quite some time now, and the time is finally coming to get one. But the question is, do I want a 240, 260, or 280Z (no ZX's, I don't like the look)? I've always thought that a '70 or early '71 240 would be my best bet, because they have none of the smog crap, and have the good looking bumpers. But I've heard that the 280 has more potential, and it does have the 5 speed. I want a car that will be a daily driver for nice days, and I'm going to do some modifications to it. Not an insane amount, probably stuff like a performance exhaust, some nice wheels, new carb, etc. But anyways, what kind of Z should I get, and what should I do to it? Li…

OK, I was just farting around looking for some more Z's for sale, and came upon a 1978 280Z that is "apparently" an original Black pearl edition. Color code is 638. It also has the 5spd tranny. The owner has had it for 3 years, as the second owner. Supposedly it has been garaged all its life, and only drive on sunny days (by a little old ladyLOL ). Never been wrecked, with no body work. Everything is original, and no cracks on the dash. Only problem stated is a dent in the (sounds like) driver's side rocker panel from an errant jack. He is selling the car so he can buy a motorcycle. Asking price is $10,000. Oh and he says it has 53,000 miles on it, no proof yet.…

Well my run of great luck continues . Friday night, my car decides to take a dump, and a big one at that, with no symptoms at all, the cabin fills with oil (lots of holes in the bulkhead). Well it turns out the sumps full of ice coffee and the radiator is sludgy, and there is next to no compression (first time the starter motor has ever turned over the engine convincingly). Now for the good news, the head is straight, and the block is not warped either, bit of leakage around the valvles but not really enough to bother about relapping them in at this stage. So what are your opinions, for a non performance motor, is the Copper head gasket or the fibre gasket better? This…
