Well- here's the skinny- because the cable snapped at the release mechanism the best advice was to remove the hood hinge bolts and prop the hood open and then unscrewing the hinge pin from the hood. this was not easy!! you are basically not able to see what you are doing just feel around for the bolt. coupled with the fact that the bolts were fairly rusty and dry this was a royal pain the arse. Also you cannot get a ratchet in between the hood and the mechanism so you have to use a closed wrench and constantly re-adjust the wrench with the bolt head. going at it from under the car was just impossible for me. there is no way to get at it with any degree of accuracy. all parts are ordered or located..... The only thing I am not sure of yet...is if I will use the F54 block or the L28 block E88 head goes to the machine shop zext week for................ Port and polish new rocker arms,valve seats,280z valves,new performance springs, and hoped up cam (Grind: 17034. Lift(In/Ex): .460/.460. Duration(In/Ex): 270/280) Mounted to this will be the Arizona intake with a Holley 390 and a Holley red top fuel pump. I need an automatic tranny for my 260z. Can someone tell me what year trannys will work in it. I also need a new differential. What would be the best gear ratio for the auto trans? I'm not interested in a manual swap. My wife can't drive a manual.

Still feeling yesterdays excitement at Willow Springs Inter. Raceway, open track racing group. Finally had some track time to do some debuggin and car setup at last! ...well, what actually broke is the spring that holds the plastic part on the Horn together with the steering wheel. Could anyone help me with some info on how i could get my horn back on the steering wheel ? i wanted to buy the whole thing again, but Motorsport Auto says it's no longer available. A question from the uninformed: Which rally cars had cross flow engine heads, why did they and not all cars and were they really considered a performance gain, considering that many race and rally cars regularly win with the trusty OHC ?
