well i went to have my new 944 ic mounted and plumbed into my 280ZX. i picked the car up at closing so i could not call the shop back right away to discuss all that i found totaly wrong. first off i told them i wanted mandrel bent piping, i get press bent piping, that was the first thing i asked when i when there is do you have a mandrel bending machine for pipe and the owner said yes. second thing i noticed was that the top of my ic now has a small bend in it that wasnt there before. third they had used what seems to be radiator hose for a deisel, instead of silicone hose. i had made it clear also that i wanted my bov mounted as close to the throttle body as possible, th…

Hello Everyone, I am wondering if the other 280Z drivers out there have cars that seem to have gremlins that cant be fixed or found? My car is a great car except for its occasional bad temperament. It likes to stall, hick-up, jerk, start up easily at times and not want to start at all other times. I have replaced so damn many things on it I dont know where to start now. Everything is brand new. All Nissan when possible. I am ready to yank out the L6 and buy an LS-1 I cant bring myself to trust it for any kind of road trip which is sad because that is wehere these cars are so much fun. At least for me it is. I am just curios if other people have these problems or if I am …

Aloha, I've been lurking on this site for quite some time as I have a bit of an interest in Z-cars. However, I have never really ridden in one or driven one. I'd like to know just how well they handle. Most of my current automotive interests lies with vintage VW's and Porsches. Most of the Porsche guys admire Z-cars, but still seem to look down their noses at them. They refuse to believe any other make and model can hang with their 911's. So, I thought I'd ask a pretty subjective question over on these boards. Just how well can you get a Z-car to handle? Mahalo for any and all answers. aloha, Joel

I am looking for blueprints for the 240Z. Technical drawings of the top, front, side, and back of the car. I want to build a 3D model of it. If anyone helps I'll send them a render of it when I finish! thanks

I have to sadly announce that I had to make a hard decision to let my 13 yrs old car loving dog. Mira liked to drive around in all of my cars, but ofcourse she She was a great companion and gave comfort in my downhills. Mira was a Alaskan husky. Her mother was a N.Y. girl. So there is a strong connection to the states within my family dogs:). Happily she did have small puppies at age of 11 and my mother has one of those dogs. I love her and miss her http://www.mediarace.fi/unenvaltakunta/kuvia/mirukki.jpg

I am having all new carpet installed but I have one major problem. Water is leaking onto the passenger floorboard. Under the dash. I disconnected the hose from the blower motor and I have major rust where it connects under the dash. I am trying to avoid having to remove the entire dash. I removed the cowl under the wipers which is not much help in getting to the area that needs to be fixed. any suggestions? quickest way to take the dash out?

Guys, Can anyone provide me the height of an E88 head ie top to bottom without having been shaved. Opened up an L24 last night and found it had notches in the pistons for valve reliefs, looks professionally done. Also noticed they aren't the traditional flat tops we associate with L24, these had a slightly raised outer crown but was flat centre, so it isn't a true dished piston either. I'm thinking the heads been shaved and they've fitted aftermarket pistons, or maybe even L26 pistons? Anyway if someone can provide me with the head height I'd appreciate it, thanks. James

I've been here about two weeks. All kinds of small little cars. They have one called the smart car.It can pull into a parking space either straight or SIDEWAYS.I am in the middle of down town. There must be a muffler rule as all the cars are quiet.Even the diesel construction equipment purr's.The autobahn is very well behaved.right lane for slow/left for fast.We took a bmw 6 series that is to be released in the next couple of years. At 225 kmh it just floats. It is a diesel but you never know it. No clack and torque that will throw you back in the seat. Also there is no oil path down the center of the highways.Except for a few old citroyens and austin minis there are no old car…

Hi all, is anyone going to the National Convention in New Hampshire? I'll be there with our Z club, ZANY, and I would like to meet some of you there. We are all just avatars on the screen. Many people ask me "why the long face?" but I look different in person. It should be a fun time and maybe it wont snow!!
