I am back and forth on leaving the l28 in the 280 or doing the V8 conversion. Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to do a total rebuild with a slight hop up on the L28?

OK, question needing opinions: I bought a heater box with a "new" core and valve on e-bay. Advertised, and confirmed before bidding that the core and valve were installed on a project car, but never used (one more project car that never made it to the street). Supposedly, it sat for several years with the cooling system filled, but was never run, so the core was filled with coolant, but never heated or pressurized. Now, see the picture attached. Opinions on whether the corrosion seen on the straight nipple, and the deposits in the curved one could have come from sitting idle and filled with coolant for several years? Note that the valve looks very good. Clean, smoo…

When you upload pictures into your gallery, how long does it take for them to approve the picture before they put it in the gallery? Brian:alien:

I saw a really nice set of 17" rims on Ebay but am unsure if they will fit. The body on my 240 is stock. I am however using Tokico springs and Illuminas on all four corners. Do you think I would be ok using these wheels, if so what tire size would you go with to prevent rubbing. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43957&item=2434895752 Thanks Mark

I'm pulling my intakes off real soon so I can smooth them out before buffing them to a high luster like the valve cover and water inlet on my L-24, my question is of basic preference, should I leave the E-46 and the round mfg stamp on the manifolds or sand them off like on the ballance tube, before I take the buffer to it. I'd really like your true z-pinion on this 1) - authentic looking w/ E-46 stamp) or 2) - smooth polished intake w/ no incriminating marks) let me know..... don't worry, I can take it. As you can see in the pic. I shaved all unneeded rises and lifts off of the balance tube, then smoothed it out, i'll probably polish it later.

I finely started to reassemble the ol' blister . One thing I want to pass on , I was using the mariene clean on the inner fender , I have the fenders removed. there is a pannel that is just infront of the door that makes a chamber that the water draines from cowel . On the driver's side the pannel leaves a 1/4" gap that allowed water and debris to enter from the wheel area. There is also a large drain that dumps the water from the cowel into the cavity of the fender in front of the door , this is an area that debris collect and hold water , this area is seen as a rust prone area and is the front of t he rocker pannel. I am installing a 45deg pvc pipe fitting and a secti…

So I've been told that the original 240z hatch vents were the worst idea for the Z car. The aerodynamics of the car were such that it sucks all the fumes right back into the cabin. So on later models the vents were on the quarters where the emblem is. Now I'm not as big a fan of the later 240z quarter emblems as I am of the originals. I'd like to weld up the hole on the quarters of my 71 and stick the original emblems on but I'm worried about getting suffocated by invading gas fumes. Does anyone know if this is what really happens or should I experiment with some duct tape over the holes?

Did anybody happen to catch The Super 2ner show today (Sept 28) on the Spike network? I flipped it on with 10 minutes to go only to find out they were doing the show from what looked like the Nissan Garage in California. I guess the whole show was on the history of Nissan racing. The hosts of the show seem to be annoying little rice boys but I wish I had known the topic so I could have set it up to record. I've set all the episodes running this week to record hoping they replay it. :stupid: If you saw it let us know if they covered the real Z :cheeky:
