Now, while we all scratch our heads on the '71 Braking issue, I thought that I would throw one more car into the mix for good measure... The victim in this case is my '74 260. This thing is built from hell and recently had an issue due to a cam gear bolt that worked it's way lose and slipped the cam gear on the end of the cam. By the way, check that bolt ladies and gentlemen, I have been told that this has been thedeath of many a valve... At any rate, Phrindley Phred was kind enough to redo the head and I threw it back on hoping for the best. Here's the issue: Car HAD unreal power previous to mishap. Now, the power is ok but after the inital acceleration it suddenl…

I must have pissed off the Z Godz this week, between my '74 and my series 1 '71 I am going thru the ringer here!! Anyway, the brakes in the series 1 '71 have allways been crappy with only the front brakes working and nuthin' to the rear. Figuring that it was the master cylinder I replaced that and fixed nothing. Matter of fact, things are worse. (how nice) In reviewing past posts, I decided to check the check valve on the firewall, it seemed preety sticky so I replaced it with one that was in my '73 parts Z. Now I've gone from brakes going to the floor to brakes being stiff as a rock and having to lay into 'em hard to even think about stopping the car. And still, no…

I just purchase and item from a guy that goes by ZXPARTS on Ebay and I want to warn you guys about him. He over exagerates the condition of stuff and when you get it you are stuck with it. I purchased a fan that he described as being "like new" and "bleach white". When I got it it was covered in dirt and discolored. I asked for a refund and his response was "look good to me, no refund" Then this Asshole leaves ME negative feedback. I hope you guys dont get ripped off like I did. Mark:mad:

Turns out the thunderbird SC I was getting had a bad supercharger. I called ford and they don’t sell the parts anymore so I let it go. I guess it was a good thing to find this out NOW rather then once I had it in my Z. I was so down because I sold my 350 tpi motor for the funds. I thought I was back at square one for my dream Z. Then I started looking at the motor I pulled from her in the first place. The PO of my Z told me the motor had been changed out with a hotter motor and it was not stock so I never looked twice at it. Turns out it’s the matching # block for my Z with a new lower-end and fresh head . I knew the motor was fresh but took the PO for his wo…
