Hi Just saw this front for a ZG the other day and thought it might make a nice topic. There's at least one other front kit for hte ZG I know of... maybe someone can post it? What do you think of them? Personally, I think this one looks a bit odd...

Hi fellas, I've got a dilemma with an ex-turbo'd L28 engine. Engine was a fuel injected turbo, now converted to dual SU carb set up. Yes I know you may ask why the conversion, the answer is $$$ for the time being, turbo is put aside until more $$$ come through, a while yet! All bearings, rings, seals have been replaced and well run in, but I'm finding it a little short of power on stand start acceleration. The car pulls great once above 70kph (45mph?) in top (4th) gear 2500rpm, but it's working through the gears from a stand start that I feel is a little slow. Overtaking and accelerating on freeways is excellent. The specs are L28 N42, elec dizzy, 240z carbs, extractors m…

On my 73 240 I have triple Webers and headers, and no heat shield. I have been having problems with the engine stalling occasionally and not able to be restarted for approximately one hour. The fuel pumps(electric and mechanical) both work well, the fuel filters(including the one in the electric pump are all new and fine. No obstructions in gas line or tank. There is good spark to all plugs(I am certain the problem is not electrical in nature). The cooling system is clean and working well. The last time it stalled, I popped off a fuel line and there was plenty of fuel pressure so I fed a little fuel into the top of two of the Webers and it started up and kept runnin…

i am going to be getting my exhaust system done very soon and i wanted to know what pipe diameter would be better. i have a l26 engine with the 71 SU's in my 71 240Z. it has headers on it and i plan to get the exhaust system done from the headers back. i've heard from many people to go 2.5" but the collector at my headers doesn't even seem that big. it seems 2.25" and the mechanic that is going to do the exhaust system for me says that it's not that good to go 2.5" as i will lose the low end torque. i already know that but don't you gain more in HP with 2.5" over 2.25"? the mechanic also told me it's not good to go bigger than the collector pipe. any suggestions?

Morning. FINALLY have redone the '74. Was tuning 'er in the d-way last night and at a 2k sustained rev the headers will begin to glow red. Get out the wenie sticks people, the bar-b-q is ready. No. Granted, the spark is "hopped up" and hotter. I figured she was "a bit" advanced in the timing and retarded the timing. If the timing gets any more retarded it's gonna be on the short bus and no change in the glow. I had a friend tell me that this may be expected due to the triple mikuni / hot spark / thin header (compared to stock) combo.... Hmmm as I watch the dandruff fall as I scratch me head.:stupid: I am not sure about that opinion. They do not glow at idle, j…

I think I'm ready to start my motor tomorrow. I would do it tonight but it's not on 4 wheels until tomorrow. I just wanted to do some final checks with the people on this forum. I rotated the crank until the first cylinder was at TDC with the intake and exhaust lobes pointing up and out. I popped in the 280zx dist with the rotating piece pointing forward(away from the engine) and plugged in the spark plugs assuming the piece was pointing to cylinder 1 (going around counterclockwise). Just out of curiousity for the 280zx wiring, what should the wire from the harness that plugged into a tab on the stock dist be plugged into if at all? I'm also assuming the tiny cylind…

So I left the T5's clutch fork in the tranny, but I only have the stock clutch slave cylinder. I refuse to pull my entire engine just to change the clutch fork so I just want to drill a hole in the end of the fork so the slave cylinder will work. I can't drill through it.....all drill bits just spin and spin to no avail......what am I to do......
