Well, as you will be able to tell by my question, i am the epitome of a newbie. i suppose this has been asked before so please don't bite my head off. i am looking for a 240 to restore. I'm wondering where i can find a list of the changes to the 240 through each year of production. i'm sure that i want a 240 but i'm not sure which year i would prefer. i'd like to find some sort of spec sheet with all the performance info on it, i.e. C.R., redline, etc. if you know any of this stuff off of the top of your head then that's great too. thanks.

I think I have bad synchro's on 2nd and 3rd, as listed recently by another member. I have adjusted my clutch pedal and changed the slave cylinder to a new one. Problem got a little better but still get a grind on quicker changes. Might be a silly question but I have to ask; how do I check oil in the box? how do I top it up if that is an option? This is my last resort seeing I have the option to buy another 5 speed box for AUS$150.

I figured out what was up with my motor sputtering at high rpms. I assumed that I adjusted my timing right. It was off. This morning, just for the heck of it, I advanced my timing just a bit, hit the gas and WWWWWOOOOOWWW. It passed the coffee test with flying colors. It's all over my center console.

I'm shortening my name to match my profile name on all the other sites I'm registered on. Just in case someone thinks Dreco is a different user.

Hi all I have seen a few engine stands that hold the L6 engine from the side. I would like to mount my engine this way for ease of rebuilding, and the fact that the weight is distributed more evenly. I just got a standard engine stand, and would like to make an adaptor plate out of some half inch stock. I was wondering which mounting holes on the side of the egine to use. Thanks Ahmed

Hello everyone, I was just wondering who all is going to the Z's by the Bay show this coming Saturday. It would be cool if we could introduce ourselves and talk Z's. I don't have a Classic Zcar Club shirt, but I am sure that if you are planning to go then post here so we can expect which cars will be there and we will be able to identify eachother by our cars. Take care everyone. I hope to see many of you Cali people there. See ya. Regards, Ben

I am trying to replace the front shocks on my 70 Z. I have removed the complete shock housing and break assembly from the car. I took out the ball joint and steering knuckly but can figure out how to get the shock out of the "cylinder". Can anyone tell me what else I need to do to remove. Mark

Can any one point me to a source that describes what body parts from other year Z's are interchangeable with my 1972? I've noticed that a number of aftermarket places simply list fenders, doors, hoods, etc as for 70 - 78. Does this mean all parts will interchange between these years? My doors are completly rusted out on the bottom and a friend has several 280's from different years and has offered to sell me parts off them if they will work. Thanks.
