ok so im swapping in my fairly well built L28 into my 71, now should i stay with the 4 speed that has a new clutch in it or should i save up for a 5 speed and do the swap? anybody ever use a built l28 with a 4 speed?

Hey guys I need some help. My head is ready to have the seats replaced with the hardened steel ones but my machine shop won't touch it without any specs. Ie., what distance should the valve stem should protrude on the top of the head and where do you measure from. If anybody knows of a shop that has worked on the nissan head (N42) that might have the specs on it could you give me there number. I really need your help here guys. Thanks Ed

hey guys, i might be selling my 78 280 z 5sp 104k miles., already. i love the car, but i need money for college. i picked it up before the summer, in march. it runs strong, starts every time, i always put premium in it. its got a new dash cap, new center console with cup holders, new thermostat, new exhaust and new bumper ends(not installed yet). It needs front differential insulator ($58 in VB), the clock doesnt work but all other gauges do, and it doesnt blow hot air. AC works, clutch is good , tranny is smooth. it has a couple rust spots but nothing major at all, some on the passenger side under the door and some under the back bumper on the passenger side. the back ti…

I am thinking of buying a set of black M3 mirrors aith indicator for the 260Z pics can be seen here: http://www.ozeparts.com.au/AM3.asp?mirror=AM35050NEB#AM3 My reasoning is that i have removed the stock side indicator as I hated it and am thinking that some form of side indicator is worthwhile for both safety as well as perhaps roadworthy compliance issues. Negative points, I dont want to rice up the 260Z, but i hope the swooping lines of the mirrors may work in an understated black finish? Opinions

Hey guys, I'm new here I'm looking at a 1973 240z that I saw in the paper (haven't even seen it yet). I don't know a lot about them, and I didn't see any FAQ's anywhere. Anyone know of a site telling general info about the old Z cars? I have many questions but I'm sure many of them have been answered already. the article says: DATSUN 1973 240Z rebuilt engine, brakes, electrical. New tires. $1500/obo. I'm looking into buying the weatherstrip kit from MSA for my 240Z but also want to purchase the door weatherstrips that fit on the body from Nissan as I've heard endless stories about the new weatherstripping from MSA and other aftermarket companies that won't allow the door to close properly even after door and latch adjustments and after waiting long periods of time for the rubber to squish down. Anyone know of where I can get the OEM door weatherstrips or what the part number is so I can go to a Nissan dealership and get them. Until today, my "She who is always right even when she's wrong" had only driven "Precious" at a steady crawl that didn't even cause the speedo needle to vibrate while I hung on precariously while trying to locate some mysterious noise.
