Alright, so I went to Pick Your Part today and got some 4 piston calipers. The casting on the side says S12 8. Does anyone happen to know if this is still compatible with my 72 240? I looked at the Z Texas brake page, and the guy seems to have the same brakes I do, S12 8, although im not sure. Anyone with experience help me out here? Oh, and one more thing, does anyone know if and where I can purchase some new floor pans? Thanks in advanced.

Hey guys, say hi to Sven (read: Phillip) from Sweden. He was holidaying in Sydney and we met up. He's a really nice guy, inot photography and filming stuff and really into cars as well. He wants to buy a 240 but they are very very hard to find in Sweden and the import taxes are a bit high from the US so he's looking for something from within Europe. Can anyone help him? Anyhoo say hi to Sven everyone. His user name is 'mull' http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=4423 cheers

Just out of curiousity, how much does Rebello charge for a typical rebuild on an original engine? That 2.7 liter rebuild sounds cool, and it sure would give me some peace of mind instead of driving a 160K driven engine

I own a '73 240z (first sold in 10/72) and I live in Los Angeles (westside) and have had a horrible time trying to find a decent mechanic. I don't have a garage so I can't do much work myself but every mechanic I've been to that claims to know a lot about Zs screws up my 240 worse than when I brought it to them. So far I've tried the ZExpert in Marina del rey and Peter's Foreign Auto in Santa Monica. I don't really want to have to take my car all the way down to Gardena or Orange County to get it worked on. Anyone know of any good Z mechanics on the westside of LA? If you do, you can email me at: kaisersolse@earthlink.net or poshiro@5thgearadv.com Thanks, in advance for a…

After rebuilding mine several times it had finally come to a point where I needed a new one. I looked around the net but all I found was a new bottle with pump for something like $80.00 ! I thought why not try the obvious and call Shucks, they've surprized me before by having parts for older cars I own. The guy at Shucks said that they carry a full line of Trico Super Pumps and the one that was listed for my 72 240Z was their "universal" pump. Well I really wanted the stock pump so I got on the Trico web site just to see what they had available. Much to my amazment, Trico carries a pump that is identical to my original Datsun part, the Trico part number is 11-601 and it…

:stupid: :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: Did I get a bloody fright yesterday !!! Loaded the golf clubs into Precious and off to the course. Played 18 holes then headed for home. The old girl was reluctant to start. All the way home she's missing, coughing and sluggish. It gets dark and starts to drizzle rain. Lights are dim and yellow. Wipers are just barely moving. I'm concerned. Turn into the driveway and the engine dies. Won't restart. Just clicks. Bloody hell !!! I'm WORRIED. Trouble light lead is just long enough to reach from the power point in the garage to the engine bay. Can't find anything obviously wrong. Everything seems O.K. Check everything a second time. A thir…

Since everyone HERE has perfect taste in automobile design, I am curious what 1st gen Z owners think of the BMW M-Coupe? I think it is a gorgeous car, but most of my non-Z friends consider it an atrocious design. My wife calls it a 'pregnant guppy'. Am I alone? steve77
