After some research on the net.. especially from this site http://www.geocities.com/zgarage2001/engine.html And it mentions under Part 3 - carburation page, it is basically saying that Carbs are better than EFI? I have also read that on Zcar.com..... Why would Carbs be better or more efficient that EFI?

My brother has just bought a 2+2. I wouldn't normally push anyone toward one, but the car was IMMACULATE and very cheap. It still even has the dealer delivery plastic around the passenger hoop in the footwell!! So to turn it into an absolute stunner I am chasing a few bits for him.. so.. WANTED!! -260z 2+2 rear hatch badges - exhauast manifold to suit L26 (pre emissions ones), can be standard, don't need to be headers etc -240z carbs Can anyone help? I'm in Melb, Aust. Will hopefully post pictures later today. It's a MINTER.. only 103,000k's, full service history. YAY!

I found a 70 240z at a shop on the way home from school. The owner said that some one left it there years ago running to replace the struts and never came back for it. Maybe I will go back and visit and take some pics. Some of the things i noticed were that the air cleaner was gone and there were no vents on the rear hatch.. As for the rust issue I'll just have to pull up carpet and post the pics. Maybe he will let it go for 200 or so. I don't have the money but if there is hardly any rust i know maybe someone else could save this early Z car.

Question for L6 gurus; Considering some mods to my L28N42, current set up is internally stock ie dished pistons, rods, bore, etc. Reading through a couple of books last night and was thinking rather than fitting flat top pistons, would it be worthwhile fitting L24 rods to the L28 crank, effectively giving a total cranking length of 212mm (top of stroke), as opposed to standard 209mm. Just considering this as doing something different, but don't want to create hassles by doing so as well! L28 crank has a stroke of 79mm, rods 130mm. L24 crank has a stroke of 73mm, rods 133mm. My combo would obviously be stroke L28-79mm, L24-133mm rods, 86mm bore. Anyone done this, and…

OK. searchin' Ebay for misc. 240 parts as I do every other day in my life when I ran across this freak of nature...I'm sure as much as most of us have looked on sites of Z's we are bound to find some nasty ugly duckling/frankenstein perversion of someone's lost inhibitions time and again. Granted this is a ZX it's STILL WRONG! And the seller mentions it's underpowered...well, yeah, when you downgrade the engine displacement nearly by half...I mean c'mon, I've seen 3rd-gen hondas with more power than this beast. Add triple digits in excess weight to an already hefty vehicle, raise the center of gravity, nastify it beyond recovery...Don't even get me started on the power…

O.k. I would like to drop the specs on the car the best I can and get some input on it's purchase price value. I know I don't have any pics yet, but thought the old time z nuts here could pretty much get an idea from description. -Had new rear end welded on because of damage, but looks like it was done professionally. -170K original miles -Manual tranny -After market speakers in door panels no original radio just a kenwood. -Seats look like normal wear for the age. -Rust- will eventually need floor pan kit, driver side has a hole about the size of a personal pan pizza, rails solid, has had patch work on frame under up near front tire. Rust starting where mudflaps would be…

As some of you may remember I found my Z by just driving by it and leaving a note on the window asking if they wanted to sell. Well this worked out quite well for me as it has been now sitting in front of my house for about three weeks. I cam home last night to see a note on the window and thought that maybe someone was complaining about it being parked in the street. Upon looking at the note it was someone with the same idea as me! He just happened to drive by it and left a note asking if I wanted to sell. I just spoke with him and he's a wonderful Z enthusiast (sp?) who has owned three Zs in the past. He's not actively searching but if one comes up he is prepare…
