I have come to realize just how big of a part my car is in my life. I got my job at a Nissan shop so I could provide it with parts for cheap. Every paycheck goes into it is some way or an other. Just the other night I was talking to it on the way back from emissions testing. It wasn't just a few comments of so, but a full on conversation on what I will do for it if it stops giving me hell. I am not driving it right now and i feel like I am neglecting it and feel bad every time I look at it sitting there so eager to go fast. Just last night, I had a dream where I was driving it to speed world (local drag strip) and was driving like a raped ape through sun city (retirement …

so, this is sort of an extention to my previous question. I just got this 71 240 Z and I'm just learning how to deal with it. The previous owner took all the emisions control out, so the intake manifold has a rail that's just cut and pinched off. I don't really know how good of a set up this is and think maybe I should just invest in a new intake since I'll be getting new carbs any way. Any opnions on this? -parker Mann

Someone just shared the existence of the Brasilian PUMA automobile with me. Had never heard of it... Interesting. some of these pix look dangerously like...well.... Can you spell Z roadster? Hoping someone else knows something about these cars. My main question is: Who designed them? Was there a famous or reputable designer who concepted them? I have read through a few of the 'history' pages and can't find any deep design roots other than who started building them and when. Here's a link with a bunch of other great links at the end: http://wj2d.100megsdns.com/home.html Anyone? steve77

Just replaced my worn out Yokohama A520's with a set of the new Yokohama AVS AE100's. I'm running 215-40x17" front & 235-40x17" rear. I love the A520's, as they have great turn-in responce and great traction, but they are a bit noisy and tend to follow road irregularities. The new AVS AE100's seem to have the same kind of traction, with a slower turn-in responce, but are much smoother, quieter, and don't follow the road irregularities nearly as much. Overall I'm quit happy with these tires. They are used mostly for spirited canyon cruising here in SoCal. Ok, I know there are probably better choices if you want to run autocross but my toy is just that....a street toy! …

hello out there, I'm not much of an expert on these Z cars and I'm wondering what I should do about my carbs. I have dual webbers right now (two two barrels) and they are totaly shot. So should I just buy new dual webbers, or should i go with SU carbs or something along those lines. I'm not looking for drag race preformance with this car, just looking to have some fun. Any help I can get would be helpfull. -Parker mann

For those who put up with the exhaust fumes in their Z here's some incentive to fix those gaskets and rubbers and replace those rubber bungs. Found this at the following website. http://sites.ninemsn.com.au/minisite/testaustralia/drivingbelieve.asp TRAFFIC POLLUTION DAMAGES MEN'S SPERM Traffic pollution damages sperm and may reduce fertility in young and middle-aged men, reveals an Italian study of motorway tollgate attendants. The attendants, who spend six hours a day sitting in a roadside booth, showed poorer sperm quality than men of the same age living in the same area but not exposed to the same level of exhaust fumes. Researchers blamed nitrogen oxides and lead f…

How many people actually use their Z as a daily-driver ??? Do you come across any problems, or do you find the car reliable enough to drive as a daily driver ??? I'm in a process of getting the car, and i can't stop thinking about the car and what I'm gonna do with the car.... but I'm worried that I can't use the car as a daily-driver, which has to be done, as I can really afford to get two cars, but my mind is just so set on getting a 240z. Any help and suggestions appreciated (except for telling me not to get a Z :classic: )

ROFL ROFL There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2020, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them... Rick

Hi all, Well, I've tentatively bought myself a '72 240Z. I'll describe it for you and link a bunch of pictures. If you would be so kind to tell me what you think of her and what she would be worth I'd greatly appreciate it. After I get some replies, I'll tell you what I paid, and I'll either be really pleased or dissappointed ( I think I did pretty good though....) This is an original owner documented 240Z. Complete service records and bill of sale. Documented 78,000 miles car. Automatic transmission with no A/C. Inspected car in person yesterday. Performed compression check and put car on ramps to look at undercarriage. Took car for test drive. Here's my findings…
