What's the deal with these rear bumper end caps? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6769&item=2418431331 Were all 240Z's supplied with these as they came out of the factory?... Just the early cars? I've seen an old picture of an early car with these. Were they an option?

Today is friday the 13th and here we even get a full moon tonight. If the rain holds back we are going out camping. I have noticed that while browsing and reading on this site and about Z cars.. there are several different types of engines... for example: I know I have an L28e (L-engine code/28-displacement 2.8/e-single overhead cam) Then i see stuff like an N42 L28... N47... and a bunch of other... RARE or hard to find engines.... what are common or rare Datsun engines that people want or swap in? I know there is the common V8 swap and stuff, but I would like to know the inline 6 swaps.... and how special are they?

280 Finally In My Posession

I finally got my hands on my brothers 280. I uploded some pictures for everybody to look at today 6/8. I don't know how long it takes for them to be approved. Let me know what you think once their available. Outside of the left front quarter panel missing (he decide to wreck it right before he gave it to me), its in pretty decent shape. Dashboard not cracked, all gauges work, only one spot of rust just underneath the drivers door. Everything else as expected for a 26 yr old car. Oh Yeah! You did read that right, he did not charge me anything for the car. He just wanted to be done with it :stupid: Any and all opinons are wanted. Thanks

OK, so people have read my post about my car being stolen and found burnt, if you havn't check the australian forum and my post is in there etc... Welll I Know 3-5 differant types of cars that i would want to own, differant price range, but basically i don't want a sedan or nothing un sporty with great handling,. like my Z was, can't stand driving a family car, even if it has grunt as its just not me... My main criteria is a bit of grunt, great handling and looks are just as important, i'm not going to buy another Z, as the next Z i buy is going to be the best i can find, and don't have the $$$ to do that at this time... basically i want a car that i can have as much fun …

how large are the file sizes on these cds? if they are not too big or if any of you have high speed internet connections, we should set up a web site where people could just download the factory service manuals. this would make it much easier for people who cant afford near $100 for a book to fix their z cars.

Here's one for the guru's.. Can you retro-fit the early centre console (i.e. choke and throttle lever) to a later, 73 240? I really like the look of it and I can't get a decent 240 dash to save myself! PLEASE help!!!

I just picked up an 81 280zx 5 speed with the L28 for $700. It needs a lot of work to look nice again, but she runs smoothly. I wanted a nice looking car that could get me around so I didn't have to drive my 99 eclipse so much. This car wasn't it until I drove it. I felt bad and felt like the car needed somebody to "restore" it. I guess I am addicted to spending money on cars. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be here with a lot of questions and hopefully learn a lot.
