OK, now that ive found the new thread button (thanks for your insightful help Alfadog!) heres my problem. my engine has always run a little warm butover the last few days my engine has been overheating pretty badly, mostly in traffic. its got a 3 core radiator, 10 inch thermo fan (which due to my electrical prowess is currently on fulltime) and i replaced the thermstat last night. It still overheated in traffic this morning. heres the thing, i tested the old thermstat in a pot and it remained closed even when the water was boiling, so i thought this HAS to be the problem, but alas the new thermostat hasnt helped (maybe a little bit). any ideas?

Does anyone know who owns (created) the small website on GeoCities called "The Z Garage?" The code hasn't been touched in a long time and a few links are broken. I can also see it has bandwidth limitations and can't access some of the pages at times. I'd love to host that information here so we never lose it. That info is priceless. -- M http://www.geocities.com/zgarage2001/engine.html

Hi guys I need a host for a website that is just over 1 MB in size, the website is hardly ever updated but needs to exist simply so the company has a web presence. The host can have one ad or popup (prefer not to !!) but must be free. It must also serve PHP for me though! Suggestions, anyone??

Finally my 71 240z with a 1JZ-GTE engine has arrived (the one from the zoom articles), its been a long time coming! Had a long (for the UK) drive home and it ran great, although as I didn't have plates on it, I had to be very careful. Just as I was about 2 miles from home however, I saw the dreaded flashing lights behind me, and was pulled over by the police. turns out my rear lights weren't working! I was expecting a big grilling about why no plates etc. and expected to have to get all the docs out about the car, but the policeman was more interested in the car itself, ha! he even said 'how fast will it go? - actually don't answer that!' ha! he then even gave me an escor…

I joined this club at the end of December just after deciding to do something about the 240Z in my garage collecting spider webs and dust. I had always told myself that I'd eventually do something about it and figured if I didn't proceed with it there was no point keeping it. Being beyond the point of wanting to do much work myself I got the engine started (first time in about 4 years) and drove it to my regular mechanic for a little bit of work. Part of the deal was that they could work on it as time permitted; I was obviously in no hurry. I got it back today after waiting 5 months. Here's a brief list of the parts replaced: Engine rebuilt by <a HREF=http://www.ja…

Hi all, I've found a 1970 240Z in Lake Havasu City, AZ, that I'm considering purchasing. Based on it's logistics-it's about 500 miles away from me- I would like to find a shop down there or near-by that could perform a pre-purchase inspection for me. It it were to pass to my satisfaction, I then would drive down there and look at it myself. Can anyone recommend a Z knowledgable mechanic in that area. Alternatively, if a member here lives near by and would be willing to look at it and maybe take some pictures, I would be very much appreciative. Best Regards, Landmizzle '71 …

I haave a 19771 240 which I put in storage(my garage) 16 years ago. I ran it a few times a year and recently decided to put it on the road. This time it wouldnt start and after a new fuel pump and cleaning the carbs I got it running like new. Put it in the garage that night and the next morning it wouldnt start. Two valves hung up and I decided to pull the head. I brought it to a friend of mine to rebuuild and the head was to out of flat to machine it. He sent it to a place in Canada where they reheat treated and brought the head in to spec. The head is like new and I am ready to install it. The queastion I have is do I treat the head gasket with anything before …
